Reflection

  1. 1. Mae GuerraReflection ILT 5660When I reflect upon this past semester challenging comes to mind. Challengingin that I found online learning to be much more difficult than I thought it would be. I hada hard time organizing my assignments and keeping track of due dates. I have learnedsome valuable lessons during the course of this semester. The most important thing istime management. I need to become more aware of my time and how I am going tospend my efforts in completing a project. I need to set a time each day to just this class.I think that if I stick to a certain time each day at a specific place where I keep all mynotes I will be much more organized and efficient. The second thing I learned is how tocollaborate better with group members. Our team found it difficult to communicate well.Once we arranged a synchronous meeting then we were able to communicate muchbetter. In the process I learned about team work and self-direction. In the midst of allthis frustration, I did learn a lot about eLearning. I would have to say that I am trulyexcited about the things I have learned so far in this program. I have learned how to usesocial bookmarking tools, document sharing tools, and blogging tools. As an educator, I learned how to write better objectives and the components of atopic. In design, I learned about contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity and theimportance of considering the layout, shape, navigation, and use of windows topresenting information. In my EdWeb project, I have learned more about how I amgoing to present my subject matter online and I am looking forward to working on thatpiece later next semester. In the web conference project, I learned how to communicatebetter with members of my team and how to set deadlines for projects when they are due.All in all… many things were learned this past semester and I am excited about what nextsemester brings about!
