  2. 2. Albert’s Childhood As a child Albert lived with his alcoholic and abusive father and his mother Albert’s father once hit all of his mother’s teeth out and broke her fingers At a young age DeSalvo tortured animals He was in trouble with the law during his young age for robbery
  3. 3. Albert’s Adult Life Albert married Irmgard Beck and had a son and a daughter DeSalvo graduated from Lyman School for troubled boys After Lyman he went into the army but was honorably discharged Seemed to be a likeable person
  4. 4. Albert’s Motives His abusive father is one motive that could have sparked Albert His troubled childhood is another motive for him to kill
  5. 5. Albert’s Methods Albert would sexually assault his victims He would pose as some professional worker to get the women to let him in their apartments After DeSalvo was done with the sexual assaults he would kill the women by either stabbing or strangling the women
  6. 6. Victim’s Profile The only thing that the Boston Strangler looked for was that the victim was a women There weren’t many similarities in the different killings
  7. 7. Factors That Lead to Albert’s Arrest The Boston Strangler was arrested before as the measuring man After the measuring man he went on raping women as the green man only wearing green He was caught as the green man and then confessed to being the Boston Strangler
  8. 8. Albert’s Sentance Albert was charged with homicide and rape DeSalvo was sentenced to life in prison He was killed in prison by an inmate
  9. 9. Victim DeSalvo was a victim of an abusive father His childhood lead him to being the killer he was because his family was not a part of his life during childhood so it drove him to not know what was appropriate and what wasn’t
  10. 10. Difficulty In Spotting Serial Killers Most serial killers are extremely clever and witty Some serial killers separate their serial killing lives from their professional and family lives They are very good at disguising their killings and themselves
  11. 11. Organized Crime Scene Planned offense of the victim Offender moves the body from the original killing scene to another location Crime scene reflects control by the killer Killer hides dead corpse
  12. 12. Disorganized Crime Scene Body is left in the original killing scene and is not moved Spontaneous offense as if it is not planned Killing weapon is left at the scene Sloppy crime scene Body is not hidden
  13. 13. Mixed Crime Scene Has characteristics of both organized and disorganized crime scenes Could mean that more than one killer was present
  14. 14. Atypical Crime Scene A crime scene that cannot fall under the characteristics of either Usually happens with decomposed corpses
  15. 15. Surprising Information I found it interesting that it wasn’t unanimous that my killer was really the Boston Strangler It made me really realize that childhood and fathers have a huge impact on people
