YuJa Video Tips
• How do you use YuJa?
• Keep them short & sweet
• Captions are phonetic

To Record, Select the Screen Options
In the YuJa Software Station, which is the creative software app
you installed on your system with a separate login, if you have
multiple monitors, select Screens.
Recording from a 2nd Monitor in YuJa
Scroll down to Custom Displays and select the Right Display.
Use Easy to Remember Names in YuJa
Recommend using a course name and activity name, such as
CSC119 M4-1 or CSC105 Project 11-1. If the video is
conceptual, then feature a topic name or a Module #.
Generating Captions in YuJa
Captions take time to produce. Edit the video and click CC.
Tip: Avoid the Add Caption button or be prepared to reset the
start/stop times for the remaining captions.
You can add a video, or cut a clip to your video. On the upper
right, you can modify your start stop times and other features.
Cut a Clip Out of a Video
It is easy to cut a clip from a video. Drop your cursor at the start of
your cut, click the scissors icon, drag the cursor to the destination and
Precise Cuts in YuJa
For a precise audio cut, set the start and end times for the cut.
Undo Video Editing
If you change your mind about the cut, use Undo or type Ctrl+z
on Windows before saving the project.
Text Overlay in YuJa
Click the Text Overlay icon below the video. A menu appears asking
for the overlay text, font size and duration. It plays the overlay when
you get to that point as seen in the 2nd image.
