  2. 2. With your partner apply the five W`s to this photograph. Allow yourselves 5 minutes <ul><li>Who lives there? </li></ul><ul><li>What is it a picture of? </li></ul><ul><li>When was it built? </li></ul><ul><li>Where is this place? </li></ul><ul><li>Why was it built? </li></ul>

Possible answers <ul><li>Who – no one except perhaps those who maintain the dam. </li></ul><ul><li>What – a dam across a deep valley holding back a reservoir, a road runs across the dam. </li></ul><ul><li>When – dam is modern (20 th century?) </li></ul><ul><li>Where – a mountainous desert region (no vegetation), land not farmed. </li></ul><ul><li>Why – to provide a supply of water (desert) or electricity. </li></ul>
