  3. 3. Biography<br />Fiona Wood was born in Yorkshire England 1958. She studied to become a doctor in London before moving to Perth, Western Australia in 1987. <br />Dr Wood became famous in 2002 when she used her invention of ‘spray on skin’ for burn victims of the Bali bombings. <br />The money collected from the sale of ‘spray on skin’ is used to fund further research into burns treatments. <br />Dr Wood is also teaches at the School of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Western Australia. <br />She is the Director of the Western Australia Burns Service and a mother of six children. <br />Awarded Australian of the Year, 2005.<br />Perth plastic surgeon Fiona Wood accepts her award, presented by the Prime Minister. They came, tons of them, bringing along the paraplegic, the blind, the maimed, the mute, all sorts of people in need – and more or less threw them down at Jesus’ feet to see what he could do with them. He healed them.
