  4. 4. ChildhoodThomas Edison was bornon February 11, 1847. Hisname at birth was ThomasAlva Edison.Thomas was seven when hisfamily moved to Port Huron,Michigan. He lived here fora while and struck out onhis own at the age of 16.
  5. 5. Thomas had very littleeducation as a child buthe was home schooledby his mom.Eventually he taughthimself how to read andhe lived with that therest of his life.
  6. 6. WorkingThomas began working atan early age. Most boysstart working that time.He got a job as a newsboyand read a lot. He read somuch he learned how tooperate a telegraph.When he got older heworked as a telegrapher.
  7. 7. My heroThomas died on october 181931 of natural causes. ThomasEdison made an impact on theworld and today wouldnt bethe same with out him. This iswhy Thomas Edison is myhero. The thing I alwaysremember is this quote,"Genius is 1% inspiration and99% perspiration"
