Measure Intent: <ul><li>In accordance with Banner’s Operating Model, Banner will work with our clinicians and physicians in an effort to reduce cost by eliminating utilization variances and misalignments specific to supply consumption. </li></ul><ul><li>This initiative will seek to achieve cultural transformation, such that utilization management will be an ongoing daily focus for everyone. </li></ul><ul><li>Under the DRG system Banner receives a fixed amount for a procedure consequently Banner must reduce costs in order to improve our margin per case. </li></ul><ul><li>One of Banner’s strategies is to reduce costs in order to operate successfully under a fixed reimbursement structure such as the MS-DRG system. </li></ul>
