  • Self Evaluation:Strengths: Meeting the Needs of the children and the Families was well for me. In the lottery I got scenario # 5 ( A child with visual impairment). I had prior knowledge about children with visual impairment. I have done Children Book Evaluation Assignment where the main character was a child with visual impairment. Moreover, I have done extensive research about child with visual impairment in the library and web site. Then I made notes about the needs of the child and his/her families. After that I have researched about the service provider in Toronto for the child with visual impairment.Challenge: Our semester is near end. Now, I have block week in the field placement with a few pending assignments in some courses. So, time management is challenging for me. Furthermore, I am facing problems in uploading the power points of the assignment in the wiki. Learning: I have learned from this assignment that, both the child and the parents need support as soon as the child is diagnosed or undergoing diagnosis for vision impairment. In addition, we have to set environment for the child with vision environment in the day care settings and provide emotional support to the parents. In future: Next time, I will improve time management skills and give more time on research work for my assignments.
