  8. 8. What is the<br /> Texas STaR Chart?<br />STaR is an acronym for<br />School<br />Technology<br />and<br />Readiness<br />
  9. 9. The STaR Chart* is a survey/tool for planning and self-assessing<br />a school’s technology alignment with Texas’ Long-Range<br />Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.**<br />The survey is sorted into four categories:<br />I. Teaching and Learning<br />II. Educator Preparation and Development<br />III. Leadership, Administration, Instructional Support<br />IV.   10. 10. The chart results consist of 4 classifications:<br />1. Early Tech<br />2. Developing Tech<br />3. Advanced Tech<br />4. Target Tech<br />
  11. 11. STaR Chart<br />Lamar Elementary<br />3 Year Analysis<br />2006 - 2009<br />
  12. 12. In the first 3 categories, Lamar Elementary is in the Developing Tech stage.<br />The campus is in the Advanced Tech stage in the Infrastructure for Technology category.<br />
  13. 13. To summarize, in order for Lamar to<br /> progress in technology, the following<br />must occur:<br /><ul><li>teachers must receive better quality professional development in technology
  14. 14. all classrooms should be equipped with the most current technology
  15. 15. teachers must use technology in teacher-led and student-centered learning experiences in order to develop higher-order thinking skills
  16. 16. school leaders must encourage and enforce technology implementation</li></li></ul><li>
