How to Market Like the Great Gatsby via ImmenselySocial.com

  1. 1. Marketing Smarts Inspired by: The Great Gatsby F. Scott Fitzgerald quotes that hold #marketing wisdom… Via ImmenselySocial.com
  2. 2. Appreciate Your Tribe “Let us learn to show our friendship for a man when he is alive and not after he is dead.” Today’s best practice in marketing is Relationship Building: • Appreciate those around you • Share their content • Help build their networks • Offer value
  3. 3. Pursuing or Pursued? “There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy and the tired.” Which one are you? Take the time to connect and offer value, and you will find yourself in the pursued category. Imagine a network of engagers seeking out your content, rather than you begging for their business! The Golden Rule for Business Owners: Offer Value, Receive Valuable Customers Ask: “What do I have to offer?”
  4. 4. “I was within and without. Simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life.” Mix up the content, but don’t get too crazy! People love variety, but not so much so, that they are left confused and with no idea what you’re all about! Share a variety of content: • Quotes • Texts • Graphics & Infographics • Behind the Scenes • Videos Just make sure it’s relevant to your Is Your Audience Enchanted or Repelled?
  5. 5. “Can’t repeat the past?…Why of course you can!” Repurpose, retarget, re- share!!! Take that older content and repurpose it into something new! Add current stats, updated news, or share with a whole new audience. Fresh content is great, but when you are short on time, don’t be afraid to rework already shared creations. You could turn something old into something that is fresh & amazing!
  6. 6. “Life is much more successfully looked at from a single window.” Marketing and Social Media Management can be overwhelming for any small business owner. It takes commitment and persistence. Take it one step at a time! You do not have to jump on every new network and trend at once. Focus on one or two until you “get it” then on to the next…
  7. 7. Don’t Make it All about YOU, You,You! Being responsive to your audience is the ultimate task of a skillful marketer! Don’t get so absorbed in your own world and what you want to sell, share, and accomplish that you stop responding to the needs of your target audience! “I was too absorbed to be responsive”
  8. 8. “Once in a while I go off on a spree and make a fool of myself, but I always come back…” When it comes to marketing, sometimes you just have to go off on a “spree” and give it go. It may not be perfect right out of the gate, but with some effort, you can learn what works best for you and your audience. If you just wait around for everything to fall into place, you could be waiting forever. Don’t miss out on opportunities. Try new things and come back to those that work!
  9. 9. “Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter - to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther ... And one fine morning…” Work your marketing, work your business, and don’t give up! Tomorrow is a new day! I’m Giving you the GREEN Light, get going!
