  2. 2. What is yoga?<br />Yoga an ancient physical as well spiritual discipline that started in India more than 5,000 years ago.<br />The name Yoga originates from the Sanskrit word yuj, directly meaning join, yoke, or unite. <br />
  3. 3. Beginning of yoga<br />The earliest known philosopher was Patanjali<br />Patanjali start the first write recorded which included so of the principles, philosophy and practices that people still follow today. <br />
  4. 4. How does yoga work?<br />Yoga works by focusing on a specific body part and your mind. This allows a integration of your mind, body, and soul.<br />The ultimate goal is to reachkaivalya, which mean ultimate freedom.<br />

Mind, body, and spirit<br />Mind: In yoga you use your mind to help you concentrate on a specific part of your body.<br />Body: During yoga you use movements to help you hold energy and focus it on other parts. <br />Spirit: It is believed by using breathing techniques you can control the energy flow in your body.<br />

Different Types of yoga<br />Hatha yoga: Mainly focuses on integrating movements and breathing<br />Iyengar yoga: Progresses focus on alignment and balance.<br />Kundalini yoga: Progresses focus on meditation, chanting and the spiritual feel.<br />Bikram yoga: Progresses focus on loosening muscles and help with chronic pain.<br />Ashtanga yoga: Progresses focus on strength and endurance.<br />

  8. 8. What to bring and wear to yoga<br />You should bring a Mat and a towel.<br />In some cases you made need some foam blocks and cotton straps.<br />While doing yoga you should be wearing unrestrictive clothes that will allow you to move and twist freely. <br />
