I need to write three probable risks that might take place in a University, specifically University of North Texas.
Give definition of the risk, give statistics of that particular risk in the U.S ( include graphs), and give real life examples of those risks if they have happened before at the University of North Texas.
I have an example of how to do it.
The risks include:
Workers compensation
Tailgating
Insurance liability for cars parked on school porperty
UNT’s Policy Number 18.1.12 states, “ ‘Hazing’ means any intentional, knowing, or reckless act, occurring on or off campus of an educational institution, by one person alone or acting with others, directed against a student, that endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student of the purpose of pledging, being initiated into, affiliating with, holding office in, or maintaining membership in an organization.”
("UNT Policy Office")
According to ‘HazingPrevention.org’, “55% of college students involved in clubs, teams, and organizations experience hazing practices common across all types of student groups” ("Hazing Information") . The University of North Texas holds about 350 student organizations; so statistically speaking, 55% of the thousands of students involved in UNT organizations could be affected by hazing. Worst possible scenario, hazing can lead to severe physical injury or even death.
In 2003, UNT suspended Sigma Alpha Epsilon for four years due to violating hazing policies. UNT News wrote, “The UNT Division of Student Development and the fraternity's national headquarters imposed the suspension in response to investigations several allegations of hazing, alcohol and physical abuse violations this semester that culminated in an off campus incident on Oct. 12 (Sunday). At that time a freshman pledge to the fraternity was found unconscious on Oak Street and transported to Denton Community Hospital.” ("UNT News")
