Target audience research example

 1. 1. )Data and images from http://business.pearlanddean.com)
The audience profile for Cloverfield is largely male and within the 15-34 age range but also includes a significant number in the 35yrs+ category so it has a fairly wide appeal in terms of age range.
2. 2. (Data and images from http://business.pearlanddean.com)
The Hills have Eyes II also has more of a male audience and similar age profile but there is a slightly stronger concentration within the 15-24yrs category and so appeals to a slightly younger audience than Cloverfield. This could be because of a stronger horror element compared to Cloverfield.
3. 3. (Data and images from http://business.pearlanddean.com)
Inception’s audience profile is an equal balance of male and female (this links in with my blog entry that analysed the poster and teaser which showed more elements than for the other films that would attract a female audience). Again the audience age profile falls largely in the 15-24 yrs range and then 25-34yrs. Inception, however, also appeals to a significant 45yrs+ audience.
