The Next Day Was The Scheduled Gathering In Deerfield For
The next day was the scheduled gathering in Deerfield for the Alliance and the area's conscious
dead. I had spent the morning and most of the afternoon about the house, hoping Anna would show
up a few hours before the party like she usually does, and as June and I played Gin for bragging
rights, she finally decided to pay me a visit. It was Dax and Daisy, who had first sensed her
presence, and after June and I had both noticed their ears perk up, we could hear the telltale sound of
Anna's bike in the distance. I didn't wait for her to arrive and begin her ascent to my home's second
floor where June and I stood in my bedroom peering from my window. I just began slipping off my
tracking bracelet as I contorted my disjointed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was as if she had died with so much life in her that this world she'd been cast into as a member of
the conscious dead couldn't fully contain her, it couldn't fully make her one of them. Don't get me
wrong... she was slightly gray in tone and her eyes at times had that distant look that so many of us
have, but there was something else. She didn't have any of the signs of a true corpse; she moved
differently, almost flowed, where most of us are rigid and jerky. And, she smiled more, still filled
with optimism like she could conquer the world, whereas the rest of our kind emitted a sense of
self–loathing, pity, and hopelessness. "I don't know...," I said, scratching my chin as if indecisive
while I looked back up at my bedroom window. "June's been looking mighty fine lately, and if you
get the choice between laying with a dead girl and a living one, well..." "That's your sister you're
talking about, that's gross," Anna sneered. "Oh, all right, I guess I'll have to just settle for a cute
blonde then," I joked. "If you see one let me know." "You're an ass," Anna complained as she shoved
the extra bike helmet into my gut. "Easy there, killer," I kept going like an idiot. "I see that you got
your arm all fixed up and now your zombie strength is back." She just fired up her bike as I climbed
on. "Is everything all right with you now?" I asked having referred to her arm,

Narrative Essay On Anthony
Once I was on the run, I realized what a horrible mistake I had made. Although I have grown up and
matured;a year ago I was a totally different person.I felt like I didn't know who I was becoming.all I
wanted during this time was my friends to be there for me,but little did I know that even my closest
friends that I had told didn't care and once I came back to school I got stares from everyone, but
that's not even the worst part of it. I do regret what I have done, but at times I don't because Through
this experience I have learned many valuable life lessons that have made me a better person and also
changed me for the better and I have no problem telling my story to people. It all started out during
the summer time in the hot days of June when my friend Megan Trail wanted to bring me along with
her on a double date.of course, I had to say yes. I didn't know who the guy was,but once I met him
we hit it off right away,I knew we had a connection or so I thought. "Anthony",is now forever
cursed in my brain. He was one of those guys your parents warn you about dark hair, green

I was having a blast till I realized where my life was going. I kept asking myself "is this really what
I want to do with my life?". All I was doing was watching boyfriend skateboard every day, eating hot
Cheetos 3 times a day, watching movies all day, having no clothes with me or anything I needed, I
was a mess and wanted to go back home and eat five–star meals again, and be with my friends. I
called up my brother to pick me up and a couple hours later I was home. The worst part about this
whole event was going back home having my whole family telling me how worthless I was and that
I didn't deserve to be apart of this family. They called me "whore, dumb, slutty, unsuccessful" every

State Of Fear Critical Analysis
Michael Crichton's 2004 techno–thriller novel, State of Fear received many different opinions from
the audience. Although the novel was a page–turner, it disappointed many audiences for they didn't
expect that of an action–thriller novel. Some audiences believed he did not provide credible sources
for the Global Warming issue. Although the novel was fiction, Crichton provided ample amounts of
information based on his own research regarding very important issues such as Global Warming and
Climate Change. Crichton speaks about how these topics impact the world and the people living in
it. The novel takes the readers on a thrilling rollercoaster ride that is filled with suspense, innovative
technology, and outstanding research. State of Fear takes its readers from the streets of Paris to the
beaches of Los Angeles, from the glaciers of Iceland to the volcanoes of Antarctica, and from the
Arizona desert to the deadly jungles of the Solomon Islands. Michael Crichton presents a thought–
provoking novel that makes the readers think outside of their comfort zone. In the novel, Crichton
displays how information can be manipulated to people's wishes in the modern world.
State of Fear has eight main characters who are Peter Evans, Nick Drake, George Morton, Sarah
Jones, John Kenner, Sanjong Thapa, Jimmy Bolden, and Jennifer Haines. Peter Evans is a young
lawyer of George Morton who is a very wealthy philanthropist donating most of his money to the

BSAA Bases: A Short Story
Over the next two weeks, we planned how to tell the others about Loki and me. It was going well
but Thor was not so sure, what would happen. He's just as anxious as I was about telling knew that
they would be mad with him keeping this secret. They had to understand why he didn't tell them.
Right now, I was in my office at the NY headquarters for the BSAA. I was in charge of all five of
the New York BSAA bases. We had to split the New York base into five parts. The five boroughs–
the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island each have a BSAA base. There were
also laws in place that said if New York was under a bio–terrorist threat or attack I was to take
control of N.Y.P.D, SHIELD and other emergency personnel, which included the ... Show more

I heard knock at my office door. Now this is when I get annoyed, no one is supposed to bother me

communicate is by computers. 3. What are the current characteristics or practices that identify
NDAS as a possible candidate for its proposed integrated data communication network? The
candidate that NDAS will look for is a person with sufficient knowledge in the current level of
information systems. This candidate needs to be able to recommend the type of systems that need to
be updated or installed, and needs to make decisions on changes from within the organization. 4.
Which two of the four network types might be appropriate for NDAS? Out of the four network

Persuasive Essay : What's Three Wishs That Seed?
One sunny summer morning, in a town called Pebble Walk. There was a boy named Wyatt he's 13
years old. Wyatt lives in a neighborhood that has huge houses. But, Wyatt's house isn't huge like the
rest of the houses. Wyatt has a loving Mom, and a caring Dad. The things that get in Wyatt's mind
are about how his family is not "rich", don't have a huge house, and how his parents don't spend a
lot of time with him. Wyatt's parents work 7:30.A.M to 10:30.P.M. So, no one is around the house
really.
Then, when Wyatt got home from his friend's house, he went to his laptop to play games. But, then
there was an advertisement that show a robot hand, and in bold letters it said, "This hand grants
three wishes that come true". Wyatt then look at the advertisement closer, and it said in underline,
"Caution: This hand gives three consequences that get more dangerous each time you make a
wish!!!!". But, Wyatt clicked on the advertisement, and it led him to a mysterious website. The robot
hand is $10.99 plus tax.
Next, Wyatt clicked 'Add' to cart, and clicked 'Buy'. Then, in two days Wyatt heard someone
knocking on the front door. Wyatt yelled, "I be there in a second". Then, Wyatt opened the door, and
saw a mail man standing there with a box in his hands. The mail man said, "Here you go, but watch
out for what you wish for". Wyatt replied saying, "I will, and thank you". Wyatt shut the door, and
ran straight to his room. Next, Wyatt shut his room door, and set the box on his bed. While he

The Effects of Wasting Your Life Away on Netflix
Netflix. Some might say that it is God's gift to humanity. Of course, if an individual doesn't believe
in God they may just call it a really good invention. Either way, Netflix rocks. It has become a
normal and everyday part of life, with more and more people abandoning their lives of cable tv in
favor of streaming. But, having a subscription to Netflix may not always be such a great thing. All
good things come with repercussions, after all. The worst onesa are declining quality of work,
declining quality of life and loss of friends. Is it really all worth it?
The important thing to ask is why people watch Netflix in the first place. Maybe a friend told you
about a new show that you just have to watch. Maybe you're bored and have nothing better to do.
Maybe you're sick and can't do anything else but watch Netflix. Maybe it's a little treat for yourself a
long day of work or school. Netflix is a like a gateway to new worlds and stories that distract you
from the drivel of everyday life. Or...is Netflix more like a gateway...drug? The side effects of this
said "drug" can be troublesome. The worst part is you may not even realize that you are falling
victim to any of it.
The first effect of watching too much Netflix is a decline in the quality of your work. That report
due to your boss tomorrow? Forgotten. Your essay assigned for English that you've had weeks to

Opposing Viewpoints, a site where one can find reviews on topics such as events, and books, just to

review on a book of one of my favorite actresses, Doris Day. There was only one report of the book,
Doris Day: The Untold Story of the Girl Next Door written by David Kaufman, which in turn, left
me discontented. This article is a glimpse into the novel, itself, rather than a review. For instance,
the article mentions that "Day was married four times and bore her only child" and that "the book is
full of surprises about the actress, who is sexier off screen than on" (Donahue). The article allows
the reader to think that she was a jubilant, spirited

Essay on Personal Narrative: Cheerleading Competition
Cheerleading – It Was Our Year!
Running the same routine over and over since August 14, 2004 and it is now October 6th. Bodies are
aching, feet are sore and we all feel as though
we have been beaten by a 200 pound boulder. Cheerleading is our passion and we love to do it, but
by mid September we were all ready to quit.
Practice Monday threw Friday from three o'clock to seven, and then eleven until two on Saturdays!
As the Lord did, we got to rest on Sundays. It was

shorter than expected, "I am tired of seeing the same tired faces, the same sloppy motions and

thanks and to ask him for his guidance. "It's our year... South Park it's OUR YEAR".
It's finally show time. We file out, get into our spots, chest rising all in sync with one another. The

Why Do You Wear The Next Day?
Everyday individuals make choices and decisions, some are far more significant than others and
some require less input or thought. Take for instance an individual buying a house, this could be
viewed as a pretty significant decision and choice with a lot of factors and details that go into the
process. In comparison however, this decision is far more significant than say deciding what clothes
to wear the next day. Although each one of these examples represent a different level of
significance, there is still a decision that needs to be made that is best for the individual based on a
variety of obtained or known information. Businesses can be viewed in the same manner when it
comes to choices and decisions for instance, when filling positions. When it comes to open or
promotable positions some might be more or less significant than others, yet the information that is
obtained or known about the candidates, such as experience, personal development, virtual tryouts,
and resume screening helps the business make the best decision and choice allowing them to hire the
best candidate.
As a matter of fact, an illustration of a significant position that was filled can be seen in the example
of Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors (GM). Mary Barra, daughter of a loyal GM employee grew
up around the GM plant, due to a program designed for balancing work and education she had the
opportunity to hold multiple positions in various business units since she was two years shy of

My American Dream : The Beliefs Of God, And God
Through the years, many changes occurred within religious belief. While the Bible remains the
golden rule, life is not as it was when the Bible was written. Because of my faith, I believe that
everything happens for a reason, and God created each and every one of us with a purpose. The fact
that God made someone different than me, does not indicate that they are inferior or superior, nor
does it indicate that I or they do not deserve the same opportunities. God makes no mistakes. Every
person is different from the next, but the Bible reassures that all humans are of one blood. During
my childhood, I was taught that marriage was sacred, and was only acceptable between a man and a
woman. I was also taught that God is the only judge of others. I do not oppose same–sex
relationships or marriage, nor same–sex parenthood. I embrace the thought that two individuals,
regardless of gender, are sharing life with each other. Walt Whitman (1891), wrote, "what do you
suppose would satisfy the soul, except to walk free and own no superior?" (10).
My American Dream I am blessed beyond measure, for I live the American dream daily. My life is
not without struggle, but I do not struggle without support. Every day the Lord wakes me, and every
day I am appreciative. I know that one day, I will not be wakened, so I live as if today were my last.
I do not retire the day without resolution of important issues, and I certainly do not retire the day
without informing those of my love. My sons,

The Importance of Leadership, Values and Vision in Successful Fashion Retailing.
Rhea Hendrickson
BA (Hons) Fashion Buying Retail and Management
RFRM4005: Identifying the M and E in Team
Introduction
The retail company which has been selected is Next, due to the long successful leadership skills
from CEO Simon Wolfson. This essay is going to look at how Simon has managed to keep Next
running and how he successfully leads his management team.
Looking at the history of Next it is seen that the previous CEO David Jones saw potential in Simon,
from when he was working for them as a buyer back in the early nineties, helping them to rebuild
their shares as they had fallen to around ten pence. Simon has also been on the board since 1997
helping to plan of the company putting it together.
How Simon has managed to take over from David Jones and how has he kept the business running
successfully.
Simon Wolfson was appointed the role Chief Executive Officer in 2001, the role was passed down
from David Jones who was the previous Chief Executive Officer from 1988. It mentions in a report
from the Telegraph (20th May 2001) 'it helped even more that Jones spotted his talents early on and
promoted him into ever more senior, precarious positions. If Wolfson 's promotion had been blind
nepotism, the whole company would have suffered the consequences by now. Instead it has
flourished.' The quote mentions the fact that if Simon didn't take over the business it may not have

Personal Narrative-Moira's Big Gig
Moira's Big Gig I thought I had it all down until that very moment. Its casting night for the middle
school play. Me as an 8th grader went in pretty confident, and I was determined to get a part. Even
though last year for me as a 7th grader didn't go quite well for me. I kept working hard for the next
year, to make my skills better. At additions i usually stumble over my words so I feel shy and that I
let myself down. But castings were postaed the next morning. Me feeling the rush of adrenaline, I
speed down the hallway. I look frantically at the list, my heart pounding. My eyes moving so fast
looking for my name. Finally there I see it my name posted by the charter "Moira Flynn" I smlied

My Life Of My Family
I come from a place where people are determined. Determined to surpass the difficult times,
determined to make their families proud, determined just to live. Where I 'm from people could
hardly manage to balance buying food and paying for rent. People walked to school, to the grocery
store, and to work because not everyone could afford to have and maintain a car. Kids grew up with
one parent or none at all. I had both of my parents, a roof over my head, and food on the table. So I
was one of the lucky ones. Except things aren't always as simple as they seem. The people around
me weren 't the only ones who faced difficult situations. Growing up the way I did broke me down
and built me back up repeatedly, but because my problems never seemed to compare to others and
everyone was struggling with something in their own way, I learned to keep them to myself.
My family moved to Fitchburg right before I was going to kindergarten. When we first moved here,
we lived in a dangerous neighborhood so my parents wouldn't allow me to associate with the kids on
my street. This resulted in me spending a lot of time alone because I was an only child. My mom
had a job a few towns away and my dad found work in the next town over. They worked opposite
shifts so seeing the two of them together was not a common occurrence. For these reasons, it was
incredibly exciting for me as a child when the three of us would venture out to visit a family friend.
It was my mom's closest friend, Rob, who lived

time I look at the clock, it's one a.m., and I still haven't started any of my homework. Then, I will
have to stay up even later trying to do all of the homework that I had put off doing. I usually end up

"Studies have begun to examine the use of Netflix as a procrastination method, even as a form of
sleep procrastination" (Friedmann, 2016).
I used to find myself saying that I'll go to bed at ten, but by the time I get home from work it's
already past nine. Then, I'll choose watching a episode on Netflix over starting my homework, then
next thing I know its already almost midnight, and I still hadn't touched my homework. I used to just
keep pushing sleep further and further back, so I could sneak in a couple more episodes. Eventually
the lack of sleep would catch up with me, and I would crash.
Since online TV was introduced, many peoples watching habits have changed. Instead of waiting
until the next episode came out a week later, people can simply just hit the next episode button and
waste and entire day away. Because of this, people have began to severely procrastinate, myself
included, but since I have gotten Netflix back, I have learned manage my time and set my priorities
straight. Every once in awhile, I still do find myself binge–watching an entire day

My First Year Of High School
It was the beginning of my second year of high school and I had a job interview scheduled for the
second Friday in February taking care of my neighbor's chocolate lab named Justice. However, as a
spur of the moment decision, I went onto the Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club website and saw
an ad for help in maintenance and so I printed off an application. They offered me an interview for
that Friday. I expected to be just cleaning the shop, but when Friday came, they handed me a list of
the golf course policies, and told me to return in few weeks with the paper completed and the other
requirements done so that when I started my paper work would be done. Four months later, I had my
first shift and I began cutting greens and raking bunkers and being able to drive on my own after
four shifts. My job was to cut greens, rack bunkers, fixing divots, and make sure the golf course
looked very pristine and uniform. Beyond just maintaining the golf course to makes it looked prefect
for golfers , I also had side work to complete every night and afternoon that was to keep the shop
clean and stocked and all the machines are gases and ready to go for the next day. I hoped that
through this job I would learn time management, as well as people skills, work with a wide variety
of people and ages and how to maintain a golf course and of course the money was helpful in paying
for the car I am saving up for and the other entire thing that I would like to buy. I think people

The Clock Strikes 12 : 30 A.m
As the clock strikes 12:30 a.m., my phone battery drops below 20 percent. Other iPhone users may
know that this is the critical moment at which your phone asks if you want to go into "battery saving
mode". This is the level at which I try to avoid. Being alarmed by this notification, I grab my phone
charger to plug it in. After plugging in the cord, I was immediately alarmed when nothing happened.
I looked down and realized my phone charger had the "Turtleneck of Death." This term refers to the
phenomenon when a phone charger cord gets bunched up at the end until it resembled the folds of a
turtleneck, eventually leading to the charger not working at all. This was my reality on that cold
winter night. It was past midnight so all stores nearby were closed. This meant I was going to have
to choose between staying home to get my homework done without my phone, or abandoning my
school work to drive 20 minutes away to pick up a phone charger at one in the morning. This was
not a hard decision because I knew I wouldn't make it through the night without a phone. I quickly
changed into my warmest clothes and ran outside to my car. My father probably thought I was up to
no good when he saw me running out the door at 1 a.m., but I was headed straight to Walmart. After
a 20 minute drive I pulled into an almost empty parking lot and ran in to grab a charger. I returned
home at 2 a.m. with a brand new phone charger in hand. I plugged in my phone and everything felt
right again. The

They don't notice it at first. Between the cold weather, Rachel's nervous breakdown and scrounging

either of them notices it. "What's that?" Rachel asks shrilly, backing away from her six year old
daughter as her four year old son looks up from his coloring nervously. Charlie shrugs as she looks
up at her mother, her father coming into the room quietly behind her. "Don't know. Just showed up
one day. Danny's got one, too," she says, matter of factly snatching a yellow crayon from it's spot on

Next Day Poem
My Literary Analysis of "Next Day" by Randall Jarrell Mirror, mirror, on the WOE – where did my
youth, dreams, and beauty go? To some, this may sound like just a clever play on words, sprinkled
with a dash of Disney fairy dust fantasy, but to many, this could be a heavy, real–life question people
ask themselves frequently. In this poem: The author uses a female persona to examine, from a
woman's point of view, the sense of the futility of ordinary life... thinking about her life as it was as
a young woman when she was beautiful, and how it is currently, when she is aging and no longer
attractive. She cannot quite understand what happened... The poem is narrated in the present tense
and follows the thoughts of the woman through a grocery store. ... Show more content on

She starts off by reflecting on a funeral of a recently deceased friend she attended the day before.
While she stood there looking at her dead friend's body, or more precisely, her deceased friend's
"cold made–up face" (Jarrell par. 9), she visualizes her own dead body, lying there, lifeless and cold.
Then, while thinking of her friend, she "hears" her friend's voice telling her how young she seems,
and that she's exceptional (Jarrell par. 9–10). She then thinks of her own life; what she has; what
she's done; but none of it makes her feel any better or exceptional in any way. Realizing even though
she has what so many would want – a husband, grown children, wealth – she really has nothing, for
only death is awaiting her (Kellman 1). These thoughts only make her feel worse, and even more
deeply depressed. She eventually arrives at an and even deeper and darker place, and realizes she is
confused, ordinary, and alone (Jarrell par. 10). Unfortunately, in her cluttered mind, death may be
the only answer for her seemingly hopelessness mental state and

When I am a new employee, I am slightly hesitant to try new things. Before even trying, I expect to
fail at whatever I am trying for the first time. Then I worry about the consequences of my imaginary

what I learned. I use this as one of my strengths. When learning to drive a car, I was hesitant to take
the hands–on approach right away. Once I realized that this is how I learn, once I spend time out of

Christmas : My Favorite Time Of The Year
Christmas in Toronto was my favorite time of the year. The night sky was always illuminated by lit

of course the radiance of the Christmas Tree in Nathan Phillips Square, producing a city of colored
spectacle and incandescence. My absolute favorite part, however, was walking through the

computer that can write its own interface and programs while connected to a monitor. Jobs and
Wozniak saw the potential and opportunity that they sold 50 of these to a local electronics store, so
they decided to start working in his parents garage . Steve Jobs founded Apple on April 1, 1976 with

Macintosh that had no programming language at all an gave birth to the true user interface.
Although not all was happy, the company board members did not see Jobs as vital part of the
company and decided to move Jobs to another company department, effectively making Jobs
powerless. Jobs would not stand for this and decided to leave Apple being followed by few former

Reflection Paper
Everyone at some point in their life has had the dream where they are falling, but they never actually
hit the ground. This dream is symbolic of life. Regardless of how far you fall you never hit the
ground. A friend of mine, currently in pharmacy school, confides in me about how he wishes that he
had done things my way, the right way as he calls it. Nevertheless, I did not grasp what he meant so
one day, I implored him to explain. According to him, the "right," way is by not failing classes the
first time, finishing college in 4 years, and be smart about taking the MCAT. Essentially, not
screwing up the first time, so you can continue with your goals the first time around instead of
getting older and wasting time. While my friend may have been right in some aspects, my personal
experiences have taught me that there really is no right way. However, life does not ultimately work
out the way one imagines. You do fail, you do break down, you are frightened and you learn to get
up regardless of the circumstances. This life lesson has been instilled into me for the past five years
from my experiences that also lead me to want to become a doctor. In my teenage years, I
volunteered with a nursing and later with Hospice Advantage where I mainly socialized and helped
the nurses with activities for the residents. Talking to the elderly you learn to not only appreciate the
life that you have but you have the advantage to learn from their mistakes. You see love rise from

Growing Up For My Life
Growing up for me wasn't always easy, I mean I've never been one to complain but I can also face
the reality of knowing I've had many struggles throughout my life. From the beginning, when I was
two years old my dad walked out on my mother, my sister, and me. When I was younger I never
knew the reason why and I thought it was normal to not have a dad since I never really had one. In
reality, my mom had to go through struggle to support my sister and I but, we never really knew
everything she did until we were old enough to realize it. When Christmas came around every year
we just figured Santa left us all these great gifts when in reality my mom had to work hard to pay all
the bills and keep us happy.
"I could see you coming home after work late, you're in the kitchen trying to fix us a hot plate". –
Tupac "Dear Mama" I was always a top priority to my mom and my happiness was what made her
happy. No matter how hard of a day she had or any other problems she would always put them to
the side to make sure we were taken care of. As I started getting a little older I used to ask myself
how my mom did it. I would think how does she wait with me in the morning for the school bus, go
to work, pick me up from daycare, help me with my homework, have dinner cooked every night,
take me to any doctor's appointment I had, take my sister to cheerleading practice and manage to get
me ready for football practice at the same time, take us home to get ready for bed just to do it all

How Does Jasper Fforde 's The Eyre Affair Testify?
How does Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair testify to the importance of reading in the formation of
one's self–identity? Many aspects contribute to the formation of a person's self–identity. Whether it
be their surroundings, their culture, their language, or even other's personal identities, they all shape
one's perception of the world, the self–imposed rules surrounding them, and where they believe they
belong within it. This world is encompassed with stories, and they contribute to the fabrication of
everything ever known. It is these stories and histories that surround all things that play a
comprehensive role in the formation of one's identity. Jasper Fforde, in his novel The Eyre Affair,

The effect and influence that Brontë's Jane Eyre has on its audience is profound, and this is emulated
in Thursday. It is evident early in the text that Thursday's childhood experiences and exposure with
the characters and universe of Jane Eyre has caused her to, somewhat subconsciously, embody the
character of Jane that she discovered within the pages of the novel. Thursday's self–identity is
molded and formed so much by the novel that the character of Thursday herself, can be almost
directly transposed with Jane. Through the author's use of intertextuality, Fforde is able to depict
what would be perceived as a modern day, contemporary Jane Eyre, through the character of
Thursday Next. Within the first exposure that Thursday directly has to the story of Jane Eyre, the
effect of Brontë's protagonist on the nine–year–old Thursday is unmistakable. Immediately,
Thursday sees herself in the character and her beliefs surrounding her own self–image are visible,
saying she "had realised not long ago that [she]. . . was no beauty. . . and had seen how the more
attractive children gained favour more easily." (Fforde 66), however, she finds somewhat of a role
model within Jane Eyre, expressing that "in that young woman I could see how those principles
could be inverted. I felt myself stand more upright and clench my jaw in subconscious mimicry of
her pose." (Fforde 66). This mimicry of Jane Eyre, even through the subtlety of the apery of her
pose,

Doug's Short Story
As Doug and I walked into the room, the old familiar smell of "band" crept around me. A smell best
described as a mix of dirty carpet and metal; the majority of my free time in middle/ high school
was spent within the realm. Now 18, and out of high school, I set out to help Doug with his band's
halftime show, due to his shortage of staff, a task which seemed very easy at the time. Following the
first day, however, I abruptly found out how difficult the task was and the degree of perseverance
needed to be a successful tech. Doug is my cousin's fiance and the band teacher at a private catholic
school. Slender in build, polite and talented, we hadn 't spent much time together prior to the
upcoming week. But based off of past encounters, I sensed the two of us would easily get along.
Before the first day began, Doug had given me a folder containing the show music. The brown
cardboard folder, held about twenty pages of show music, with the titles: "Jurassic Park Fantasy",
"Indiana Jones", and "Stars Wars/E.T", a playlist meant to honor the famous composer: John
Williams. But for the week, Doug noted, we would mainly focus on Jurassic Park. And as I scanned
through the pages, it definitely seemed reachable. The rhythms had been simplified to accommodate
a high school level and the note ranges also seemed easier. Now sitting in Doug's office, awaiting
the arrival of the children, I asked Doug, "What's the plan for today? More importantly... when's
lunch?". With a

Fear Of Clowns Research
I have a major fear of clowns. It started with a terrible occurrence in my youth. Everytime I see one
I have this horrible feeling that makes me sick. Of my experiences, I had one encounter that made
my fear somewhat decrease. Most of my fear from them is what I didn't know or see. But I'm still
not afraid of the circus. Clowns always frightened me as a child, but one Halloween made it even
worse. I was on a haunted house tour with my family when I accidentally was diverted. Not
knowing I was alone for a while I wandered into a room full of killer–looking clowns and they all
swarmed me at once. The quick outburst of them from every direction was so terrifying that I passed
out right where I was standing and awoke in the hospital. I looked over to my mom and she said
"They have something to say." I looked to my right side and I saw the clowns once again this time
they looked even more evil. Once again I passed out. The next time I woke up I checked to make
sure there wasn't any clowns and then checked again to be safe. Lucky for me there were none to be
seen and I was relieved but still on edge from the whole encounter. My mom entered the room soon
after I gathered all my nerves. She said that she thought that me seeing them and ... Show more

Every so often I would think about the horrible creatures or see them on the TV, whenever I
stumbled upon them I would change the channel immediately. But one day, while getting gas,I saw
something across the parking lot that I never wished to see again in my whole entire life. It was in
fact a clown, I quickly threw the hose back in its holder and jumped in my car with out getting gas
and left. After getting gas from somewhere else I didn't think much of what happened until, I looked
in the rear view mirror and saw the big nosed creature once again. It must've followed me because I
was close to my house and it was still following me close

The Most Important People In My Life
One of the most severe trials that has ever affected my life was when I lost one of the most
important people in my life, my grandmother. She was someone who had a major influence in my
life, and for most of it she was very sick, in pain, couldn't move very well she was pretty brittle in
that sense. Before this severe tragedy, It never really came to my mind that someone I love could
just disappear like that. During her final week of expected time to live, she was the worst, non
responsive, incoherent, and suffering, all we got from her was heavy breaths. Within 1 weeks time
we get the call that she had passed and we rushed over, seeing them drag away her corpse ensconced
blue duffel bag was probably the hardest thing to witness. October 12th 2015, 5 days from her 90th
birthday, she took her last breath. Someone who loved me, took care of me, and watched as I grew
up, suddenly was gone.
I wish I could of seen her more often than I did before she died, I'm not even sure if I can visit her
home the same. She died in her room and walking in there I feel a bit of pressure, maybe a feeling of
her/ her presence still in that room. When I visit I sometimes stand in the spot her bed use to be in
where she had passed and I like to think or her and pray to god, ask him about how she is doing and
hope he's taking care of her. I was maybe visiting my aunt's house (where she lived) 1 time every 2
months. After about 12 years of age I wasn't visiting her as much as I used to I used to

Next Day Research Paper
If your teacher is really nice to you and all the sudden they are rude the next day. Well it is just
because they are having a bad day. It doesn't mean they don;t care they just an't happy at the
moment. Other kids probably have got on the teachers nerves then they just got in a grumpy mood.
This is what I think the next day will be a better day then the last. You may be struggling in Math,
Science, Literacy, or whatever class it is that you are struggling in. All teachers want to help you if
you let them help you of course. I would let them help me if I was struggling so that I can get better,
grades in that class and move up to the next grade. They just want to help you and if they want to
help you I suggest that you let them so you can

  • 1. The Next Day Was The Scheduled Gathering In Deerfield For The next day was the scheduled gathering in Deerfield for the Alliance and the area's conscious dead. I had spent the morning and most of the afternoon about the house, hoping Anna would show up a few hours before the party like she usually does, and as June and I played Gin for bragging rights, she finally decided to pay me a visit. It was Dax and Daisy, who had first sensed her presence, and after June and I had both noticed their ears perk up, we could hear the telltale sound of Anna's bike in the distance. I didn't wait for her to arrive and begin her ascent to my home's second floor where June and I stood in my bedroom peering from my window. I just began slipping off my tracking bracelet as I contorted my disjointed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was as if she had died with so much life in her that this world she'd been cast into as a member of the conscious dead couldn't fully contain her, it couldn't fully make her one of them. Don't get me wrong... she was slightly gray in tone and her eyes at times had that distant look that so many of us have, but there was something else. She didn't have any of the signs of a true corpse; she moved differently, almost flowed, where most of us are rigid and jerky. And, she smiled more, still filled with optimism like she could conquer the world, whereas the rest of our kind emitted a sense of self–loathing, pity, and hopelessness. "I don't know...," I said, scratching my chin as if indecisive while I looked back up at my bedroom window. "June's been looking mighty fine lately, and if you get the choice between laying with a dead girl and a living one, well..." "That's your sister you're talking about, that's gross," Anna sneered. "Oh, all right, I guess I'll have to just settle for a cute blonde then," I joked. "If you see one let me know." "You're an ass," Anna complained as she shoved the extra bike helmet into my gut. "Easy there, killer," I kept going like an idiot. "I see that you got your arm all fixed up and now your zombie strength is back." She just fired up her bike as I climbed on. Although I have grown up and matured;a year ago I was a totally different person.I felt like I didn't know who I was becoming.all I wanted during this time was my friends to be there for me,but little did I know that even my closest friends that I had told didn't care and once I came back to school I got stares from everyone, but that's not even the worst part of it. I do regret what I have done, but at times I don't because Through this experience I have learned many valuable life lessons that have made me a better person and also changed me for the better and I have no problem telling my story to people. It all started out during the summer time in the hot days of June when my friend Megan Trail wanted to bring me along with her on a double date.of course, I had to say yes. I didn't know who the guy was,but once I met him we hit it off right away,I knew we had a connection or so I thought. • 9. State Of Fear Critical Analysis Michael Crichton's 2004 techno–thriller novel, State of Fear received many different opinions from the audience. Although the novel was a page–turner, it disappointed many audiences for they didn't expect that of an action–thriller novel. Some audiences believed he did not provide credible sources for the Global Warming issue. Although the novel was fiction, Crichton provided ample amounts of information based on his own research regarding very important issues such as Global Warming and Climate Change. Crichton speaks about how these topics impact the world and the people living in it. The novel takes the readers on a thrilling rollercoaster ride that is filled with suspense, innovative technology, and outstanding research. State of Fear takes its readers from the streets of Paris to the beaches of Los Angeles, from the glaciers of Iceland to the volcanoes of Antarctica, and from the Arizona desert to the deadly jungles of the Solomon Islands. Michael Crichton presents a thought– provoking novel that makes the readers think outside of their comfort zone. In the novel, Crichton displays how information can be manipulated to people's wishes in the modern world. State of Fear has eight main characters who are Peter Evans, Nick Drake, George Morton, Sarah Jones, John Kenner, Sanjong Thapa, Jimmy Bolden, and Jennifer Haines. Of course, if an individual doesn't believe in God they may just call it a really good invention. Either way, Netflix rocks. It has become a normal and everyday part of life, with more and more people abandoning their lives of cable tv in favor of streaming. But, having a subscription to Netflix may not always be such a great thing. All good things come with repercussions, after all. The worst onesa are declining quality of work, declining quality of life and loss of friends. Is it really all worth it? The important thing to ask is why people watch Netflix in the first place. Maybe a friend told you about a new show that you just have to watch. Maybe you're bored and have nothing better to do. Maybe you're sick and can't do anything else but watch Netflix. Maybe it's a little treat for yourself a long day of work or school. Netflix is a like a gateway to new worlds and stories that distract you from the drivel of everyday life. Or...is Netflix more like a gateway...drug? The side effects of this said "drug" can be troublesome. The worst part is you may not even realize that you are falling victim to any of it. The first effect of watching too much Netflix is a decline in the quality of your work. That report due to your boss tomorrow? Forgotten. There was only one report of the book, Doris Day: The Untold Story of the Girl Next Door written by David Kaufman, which in turn, left me discontented. • 55. Why Do You Wear The Next Day? Everyday individuals make choices and decisions, some are far more significant than others and some require less input or thought. Take for instance an individual buying a house, this could be viewed as a pretty significant decision and choice with a lot of factors and details that go into the process. In comparison however, this decision is far more significant than say deciding what clothes to wear the next day. Although each one of these examples represent a different level of significance, there is still a decision that needs to be made that is best for the individual based on a variety of obtained or known information. Businesses can be viewed in the same manner when it comes to choices and decisions for instance, when filling positions. When it comes to open or promotable positions some might be more or less significant than others, yet the information that is obtained or known about the candidates, such as experience, personal development, virtual tryouts, and resume screening helps the business make the best decision and choice allowing them to hire the best candidate. As a matter of fact, an illustration of a significant position that was filled can be seen in the example of Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors (GM). Mary Barra, daughter of a loyal GM employee grew up around the GM plant, due to a program designed for balancing work and education she had the opportunity to hold multiple positions in various business units since she was two years shy of turning ... • 59. My American Dream : The Beliefs Of God, And God Through the years, many changes occurred within religious belief. While the Bible remains the golden rule, life is not as it was when the Bible was written. Because of my faith, I believe that everything happens for a reason, and God created each and every one of us with a purpose. The fact that God made someone different than me, does not indicate that they are inferior or superior, nor does it indicate that I or they do not deserve the same opportunities. God makes no mistakes. Every person is different from the next, but the Bible reassures that all humans are of one blood. During my childhood, I was taught that marriage was sacred, and was only acceptable between a man and a woman. I was also taught that God is the only judge of others. I do not oppose same–sex relationships or marriage, nor same–sex parenthood. I embrace the thought that two individuals, regardless of gender, are sharing life with each other. Walt Whitman (1891), wrote, "what do you suppose would satisfy the soul, except to walk free and own no superior?" (10). My American Dream I am blessed beyond measure, for I live the American dream daily. My life is not without struggle, but I do not struggle without support. Every day the Lord wakes me, and every day I am appreciative. I know that one day, I will not be wakened, so I live as if today were my last. I do not retire the day without resolution of important issues, and I certainly do not retire the day without informing those of my love. My sons, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Where I 'm from people could hardly manage to balance buying food and paying for rent. People walked to school, to the grocery store, and to work because not everyone could afford to have and maintain a car. Kids grew up with one parent or none at all. I had both of my parents, a roof over my head, and food on the table. So I was one of the lucky ones. Except things aren't always as simple as they seem. The people around me weren 't the only ones who faced difficult situations. Growing up the way I did broke me down and built me back up repeatedly, but because my problems never seemed to compare to others and everyone was struggling with something in their own way, I learned to keep them to myself. My family moved to Fitchburg right before I was going to kindergarten. When we first moved here, we lived in a dangerous neighborhood so my parents wouldn't allow me to associate with the kids on my street. This resulted in me spending a lot of time alone because I was an only child. My mom had a job a few towns away and my dad found work in the next town over. They worked opposite shifts so seeing the two of them together was not a common occurrence. For these reasons, it was incredibly exciting for me as a child when the three of us would venture out to visit a family friend. It was my mom's closest friend, Rob, who lived ... Being alarmed by this notification, I grab my phone charger to plug it in. After plugging in the cord, I was immediately alarmed when nothing happened. I looked down and realized my phone charger had the "Turtleneck of Death." This term refers to the phenomenon when a phone charger cord gets bunched up at the end until it resembled the folds of a turtleneck, eventually leading to the charger not working at all. This was my reality on that cold winter night. It was past midnight so all stores nearby were closed. This meant I was going to have to choose between staying home to get my homework done without my phone, or abandoning my school work to drive 20 minutes away to pick up a phone charger at one in the morning. "But they're just stories," Rachel whispered forcefully, leaning forward to take his hand in hers. "True," Ben admitted as he watched the kids play a board game in the living room. "We'll just keep on like we have been and hope for the best," he decides, looking over at Rachel who looks tired and wane. "Why don't you go lie down. • 103. Next Day Poem My Literary Analysis of "Next Day" by Randall Jarrell Mirror, mirror, on the WOE – where did my youth, dreams, and beauty go? To some, this may sound like just a clever play on words, sprinkled with a dash of Disney fairy dust fantasy, but to many, this could be a heavy, real–life question people ask themselves frequently. In this poem: The author uses a female persona to examine, from a woman's point of view, the sense of the futility of ordinary life... thinking about her life as it was as a young woman when she was beautiful, and how it is currently, when she is aging and no longer attractive. She cannot quite understand what happened... The poem is narrated in the present tense and follows the thoughts of the woman through a grocery store. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She starts off by reflecting on a funeral of a recently deceased friend she attended the day before. While she stood there looking at her dead friend's body, or more precisely, her deceased friend's "cold made–up face" (Jarrell par. 9), she visualizes her own dead body, lying there, lifeless and cold. Then, while thinking of her friend, she "hears" her friend's voice telling her how young she seems, and that she's exceptional (Jarrell par. 9–10). She then thinks of her own life; what she has; what she's done; but none of it makes her feel any better or exceptional in any way. Realizing even though she has what so many would want – a husband, grown children, wealth – she really has nothing, for only death is awaiting her (Kellman 1). These thoughts only make her feel worse, and even more deeply depressed. She eventually arrives at an and even deeper and darker place, and realizes she is confused, ordinary, and alone (Jarrell par. 10). Unfortunately, in her cluttered mind, death may be the only answer for her seemingly hopelessness mental state and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For me this comes with experience. Before applying for a degree in Higher Education, I am planning to seek out any Universities I can work at that only need an undergraduate degree. I know that Temple does have this opportunity and depending on the campus branch, Penn State does as well. After graduation in Graduate School, I am likely to have a boss (due to having an assistantship, which will give me hands–on experience.) I use this as one of my strengths. When learning to drive a car, I was hesitant to take the hands–on approach right away. Once I realized that this is how I learn, once I spend time out of my head and contracting one what could go wrong, I am a hands–on learner. To this day, I am still learning that mistakes come in all different shapes and sizes. For example, if I print out something for work and I used the wrong size paper I am not likely to be terminated. In the future, I am likely to be very aware to make that mistake same again. Mistakes are a natural part of life, making them helps me know better for the next time. The night sky was always illuminated by lit windows of skyscraper offices and the blindingly bright lights of hotel signs, but during the holidays the festive displays are unmatched. Jobs and Wozniak saw the potential and opportunity that they sold 50 of these to a local electronics store, so they decided to start working in his parents garage . Steve Jobs founded Apple on April 1, 1976 with the help of business man Ronald Wayne. Steve was super successful turning him into a millionaire at just the age of 23 with his company creating even more revolutionary technologies such as the Macintosh that had no programming language at all an gave birth to the true user interface. Although not all was happy, the company board members did not see Jobs as vital part of the company and decided to move Jobs to another company department, effectively making Jobs powerless. Regardless of how far you fall you never hit the ground. A friend of mine, currently in pharmacy school, confides in me about how he wishes that he had done things my way, the right way as he calls it. Nevertheless, I did not grasp what he meant so one day, I implored him to explain. According to him, the "right," way is by not failing classes the first time, finishing college in 4 years, and be smart about taking the MCAT. Essentially, not screwing up the first time, so you can continue with your goals the first time around instead of getting older and wasting time. While my friend may have been right in some aspects, my personal experiences have taught me that there really is no right way. However, life does not ultimately work out the way one imagines. You do fail, you do break down, you are frightened and you learn to get up regardless of the circumstances. This life lesson has been instilled into me for the past five years from my experiences that also lead me to want to become a doctor. In my teenage years, I volunteered with a nursing and later with Hospice Advantage where I mainly socialized and helped the nurses with activities for the residents. When I was younger I never knew the reason why and I thought it was normal to not have a dad since I never really had one. In reality, my mom had to go through struggle to support my sister and I but, we never really knew everything she did until we were old enough to realize it. No matter how hard of a day she had or any other problems she would always put them to the side to make sure we were taken care of. I would think how does she wait with me in the morning for the school bus, go to work, pick me up from daycare, help me with my homework, have dinner cooked every night, take me to any doctor's appointment I had, take my sister to cheerleading practice and manage to get me ready for football practice at the same time, take us home to get ready for bed just to do it all over ... Many aspects contribute to the formation of a person's self–identity. Whether it be their surroundings, their culture, their language, or even other's personal identities, they all shape one's perception of the world, the self–imposed rules surrounding them, and where they believe they belong within it. This world is encompassed with stories, and they contribute to the fabrication of everything ever known. The effect and influence that Brontë's Jane Eyre has on its audience is profound, and this is emulated in Thursday. It is evident early in the text that Thursday's childhood experiences and exposure with the characters and universe of Jane Eyre has caused her to, somewhat subconsciously, embody the character of Jane that she discovered within the pages of the novel. Thursday's self–identity is molded and formed so much by the novel that the character of Thursday herself, can be almost directly transposed with Jane. Through the author's use of intertextuality, Fforde is able to depict what would be perceived as a modern day, contemporary Jane Eyre, through the character of Thursday Next. Within the first exposure that Thursday directly has to the story of Jane Eyre, the effect of Brontë's protagonist on the nine–year–old Thursday is unmistakable. Immediately, Thursday sees herself in the character and her beliefs surrounding her own self–image are visible, saying she "had realised not long ago that [she]. . . was no beauty. . . and had seen how the more attractive children gained favour more easily." (Fforde 66), however, she finds somewhat of a role model within Jane Eyre, expressing that "in that young woman I could see how those principles could be inverted. I felt myself stand more upright and clench my jaw in subconscious mimicry of her pose." (Fforde 66). This mimicry of Jane Eyre, even through the subtlety of the apery of her pose, ... Doug is my cousin's fiance and the band teacher at a private catholic school. Slender in build, polite and talented, we hadn 't spent much time together prior to the upcoming week.
