Product Spec Sheet for Proliposome formulation manufactured by Encapsula NanoSciences that is used specifically in the cosmetic industry. The brand name is Dermasome-Chol. The Dermasome-Chol formulation is composed of unsaturated phospholipids and it does contain alcohol. The proliposome formulation forms liposomes upon dilution with water. During the dilution process water soluble active ingredients can be encapsulated inside the liposomes or liposoluble active ingredients can be incorporated into the lipid bilayers. The formulation is packaged under sterile conditions inside spout pouches.

1. DERMESOMETM- CHOL
CHARACTERISTICS
DermasomeTM –Chol is a highly concentrated
proliposome formulation for cosmetic formulators
that form nano-sized liposomes upon dilution of the
formulation with water using standard mixing
devices.
DermasomeTM –Chol is composed of high purity
phospholipids that form stable liposomes with high
encapsulation and incorporation efficiency. The
formulation is colorless and odorless.
DermasomeTM –Chol is composed of a proprietary
blend of unsaturated phospholipids.
Hydration of these lipids with water causes
rearrangement of the lipid bilayers which
spontaneously forms liposomes. If water-soluble
active ingredients, such as peptides, minerals or
other water soluble molecules, are dissolved in water
and added to DermasomeTM –Chol , liposomes with
high entrapment of the active molecule are formed.
If liposoluble molecules or antioxidants are added to
DermasomeTM –Chol and hydrated with water, the
lipid soluble molecules will be incorporated into the
lipid bilayers of the liposomes. Up to 65% of a water-soluble
molecule in the solution is encapsulated
inside the liposomes and almost 100% of liposoluble
molecules are incorporated into the lipid bilayers of
the liposomes.
Since the lipids that are used in the formulation are
unsaturated, the formulation does not require
heating after hydration. Therefore heat sensitive
active ingredients can be used with DermasomeTM -
Chol.
