Yankee outfielder Curtis Granderson and fashion mogul Andy Hilfger will be honored by World of Money.org for their educational philanthropy.  Granderson will receive the ICON FOR CHANGE award and Hilfiger received the FASHION PHILANTHROPIST award.  The benefit ceremony will take place May 2nd, tonight at 6:30 PM at the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), 120 Broadway in New York City.   Honorary Chair for the event is the internationally renowned, Jim Rogers of Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests. the WorldofMoney.org Youth Financial Education Institute. His brilliant contribution dispelled the toxic beliefs which youth
have about fashion and business.
New York Yankees and author Curtis Granderson’s Grand Kids Foundation has partnered with the New York City
Department of Education to unveil recently renovated athletic fields at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn – A New
York City Public School affected by Hurricane Sandy. In February 2012, Curtis pledged the funding of a new multi-billion
dollar baseball stadium on the campus of University of Illinois Chicago. He also acts as the official MLB Spokesperson
for First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move anti-obesity campaign and has served for five years as MLB’s International
Ambassador as a way to promote and grow the game of baseball internationally.
