Summary <ul><li>Some of special activities Vietnamese do during Tet holidays: </li></ul><ul><li> Seeing fire-work, going to pagoda on the New Year’s Eve. </li></ul><ul><li> Greetings, giving lucky-money, visiting relatives, friends, colleagues, neighbors,… </li></ul><ul><li> Playing games, taking part in some festivals. </li></ul>
  3. 3. 1. Seeing fire-work, going to pagodas on the New Year’s Eve <ul><li> On the New Year’s Eve, seeing fire-work is extremely popular. </li></ul>

Greetings <ul><li> Sống lâu trăm tuổi (Live up to 100 years). </li></ul><ul><li> An khang thịnh vượng (Security, good health, and prosperity). </li></ul><ul><li> Vạn sự như ý (萬事如意) (May a myriad things go according to your will). </li></ul><ul><li> Sức khoẻ dồi dào (Plenty of health). </li></ul><ul><li> Cung hỷ phát tài ( 恭喜发财 , 恭喜發財 ). (Congratulations and be prosperous). </li></ul><ul><li> Tiền vô như nước (May money flow in like water). </li></ul>
  10. 12. Giving lucky-money <ul><li> Children receive a red envelope containing money from their elders. This tradition is called mừng tuổi (happy new age) in the north and lì xì in the south. </li></ul>
