LADBROOKS SCHOOL CAMP WAINUI 2013YEAR 7/8 Monday 11th February to Wednesday 13th February YEAR 5/6 Wednesday 27th February to Friday 1st March
Where is it and how will we get there? Wainui Camp is approximately 1 hour away from Ladbrooks. We will be transported by parents cars and a couple of parents will be taking trailers to carry all of the luggage. Part of the drive is quite windy, please notify us if your child gets car sick.
WEST WING• YMCA Wainui Park in Akaroa Harbour is purpose built and we will be staying in The West Wing which sleeps 30.• There are 7 x 4-bed dorms and 1 2-bed room (all ensuited). We are responsible for the cleaning of our wing so all students will be required to do this.• Feeds up to 30/40 people in the small dining room/kitchen with self-service tea and coffee facilities. Grassy picnic area.

Certification Full Risk Management forms for all of the activities that we will be completing. We also have our own school Safety Action Plan!

We will bring the children back toChristchurch when it is safe to travel.
Parent HelpersIt is essential for our parent helpers to be an integralpart of our camp. Without them we could not venture onthese outdoor activities. Their help is greatlyappreciated!They must be prepared to stand back and let studentslearn by doing. They also need to support the teachersand instructors by following their lead.They are an extra set of eyes for all activities. When ona tramp they need to either be the ‘lead’ or ‘tail gateCharlie.’
