Welcome to the Life Simplified Mini Webinar series. Today we’re talking about one of the principles in Jack Canfield’s book The Success Principles – The Rule of 5. This goes nicely with last week’s prioritization webinar, Focus on 3. Let’s get started.
This quote is the introduction for the chapter in The Success Principles on The Rule of 5. I think it sums up the value of The Rule of 5 for entrepreneurs. No one’s success was instant, even if it appears to be so. There were small daily acts that when repeated, created the success. Whether it’s wanting to be a star, writing a novel or saving for retirement, the best way to achieve any goal is a series of small steps.
These are two examples from Jack Canfield’s chapter on The Rule of 5 from The Success Principles. The first is his book co-authored with Mark Victor Hansen, Chicken Soup for the Soul. They applied the Rule of 5. They wanted the book to be a national bestseller. Every day they took one action to move it closer to success. With two years of actions, 1 year from publication not only was it a national bestseller, but it was called “the publishing phenomenon of the decade” by Time Magazine. The other example is from Lake Arrowhead in California. Here one woman planted fields of daffodils as far as the eye can see. The way she did it was one bulb at a time over I believe it was 40 years.
