  2. 2. Leadership - Definition <ul><li>Leadership has been described as the “process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Leadership - Important <ul><li>Leadership is one of the most relevant aspects of the organizational context. </li></ul><ul><li>However, defining leadership has been challenging. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Introduction <ul><li>Some people are born leaders. </li></ul><ul><li>They manage to gain respect from peers and subordinates because of the way they conduct themselves. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Important <ul><li>It is not always necessary to be born with the capacity to lead in order to become a natural leader. </li></ul><ul><li>Sometimes it may just mean tapping into available resources and using them wisely. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Leadership - Tips <ul><li>As a leader, you need to interact with your followers, peers, seniors, and others. </li></ul><ul><li>To gain their support, you must be able to know some tips. </li></ul>

Perform a Self-evaluation <ul><li>Natural leaders consistently take an objective view of themselves so they can in turn assess the people and situations that occur around them. </li></ul><ul><li>Take an inventory of strengths and weaknesses and determine goals for improving and evolving into a better version of self. </li></ul>

Pursue Mentors <ul><li>Pursue mentors who are proven natural leaders. </li></ul><ul><li>All natural leaders need some help from willing mentors. </li></ul><ul><li>It is not necessary to mimic a mentor. It is valuable, however, to understand why thoughtful people think what they think. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Become a Critical Thinker <ul><li>Many times leaders have to develop mental strategies to help people to think and understand: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>What are they doing? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Why are they doing it? </li></ul></ul>
  10. 10. Read about Leadership <ul><li>Read several different views on leadership. </li></ul><ul><li>It is not necessary to agree with everyone’s theory on leadership, but it helps to understand personal views on natural leadership. </li></ul>
