This document provides instructions for students to create a VoiceThread account and post a book talk review. It outlines the following steps: 1. Go to the class wiki website and projects page to find your class period's VoiceThread. 2. Register for a free VoiceThread account and remember your login credentials. 3. Record a video or audio comment about the book you read, using your webcam or microphone. VoiceThread will play back your comment for approval. 4. You can personalize your avatar by uploading an image of your choice.

2. Share your latest book on a VoiceThread! Here’s how.

3. Go to Class Wiki: Cafe19.wikispaces.com Go to Projects Page, then Book Talks. Locate your class period’s VoiceThread.

4. Register at VoiceThread. Don’t forget to add your name and password to your password note card! Click here to create a free account. Then, click REGISTER.

5. Register at VoiceThread. Complete the information. Use your first name, last initial so that we know who you are. Remember, to protect your full identity.

6. Select Comment Type. Click comment button. Use your webcam to record a video comment. Record an audio-only comment.

7. Record Comment (Book Talk)! You may have to click “Allow” in a pop-up box to enable Voicethread to interact with webcam/recorder. Record your comment. Then, click “stop recording.” VoiceThread will play your comment. If you like it, click SAVE. If not, CANCEL and try again.

8. Personalize Your Avatar. You can personalize the avatar by uploaded a different image. When logged in, VoiceThread assigns an avatar to identify you. Click the avatar. Then, create another identify and edit your avatar.

9. Record Comment (Book Talk)! You can upload any image you have saved on your computer! Be creative, and use the webcam to snap a picture of yourself or an object. Or, use clipart. Don’t use copyrighted images!

10. Celebrate your success, and check out what your classmates are reading!
