Read the following paragraph and then answer the question Natural beauties are the wonderful lakes throughout the nation’s territory. The most important lakes in El Salvador are: Ilopango, Coatepeque and Guija, shared with Guatemala. Coatepeque Lake, considered among the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world, Coatepeque is a volcanic lake situated about an hour from San Salvador. It is much older than Ilopango, though created by a similar catastrophic eruption some five to six thousand years ago. Named Lago de Coatepeque, it is on the eastern slope of the Santa Ana volcano. It is a beautiful, clean, and sparkling blue. Lake Ilopango is about 15 km east from San Salvador and is the largest lake in El Salvador covering an area of about 72sq km and about 230m deep. Created by a volcanic eruption. Ilopango has several islands that are home to native birds and a sanctuary to migrating ones. The water temperature is around 26Cº (77Fº) and up throughout the year which makes scuba diving a great activity any time of the year.   3. 3. 3-Mentioned some characteristic about Ilopango lake With a partner read the following article about Lempa River LEMPA RIVER: The Lempa River is the most important river in El Salvador and is a 422 km long river in Central America. Its sources are located in between the Sierra Madre and the Sierra del Merendón in southern Guatemala. In Guatemala the river is called Río Olopa, The river continues its course for another 360 km in El Salvador, flowing in a generally southwards direction until it reaches the Pacific Ocean in the department of San Vicente. The river forms a small part of the international boundary between El Salvador and Honduras. The rivers watershed has an extension 18,246 km², of which 10,255 km2 (56%) is situated in El Salvador, 5,696 km2 in Honduras and 2,295 km2 in Guatemala. 49% of El Salvadors territory is covered by the Lempa river basin, and 77.5% of the Salvadoran population lives in cities, towns, and villages that are located in its basin, including the capital city of San Salvador. There are several hydroelectric dams along the river. In El Salvador there is the Guayojo dam, the Cerrón Grande Hydroelectric Dam, the 5 de Noviembre dam, and the 15 de Septiembre dam which can be easily seen from the Pan-American Highway.
