Sit down / Open the window </li></ul><ul><ul><li>We make the negative imperative with DON’T / DO NOT </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>E.g. Don’t sit down / Don’t open the window </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Use : </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Direct orders : Tell me everything </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Instructions : Open your books on page... </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Warnings : Be careful! That car is running too fast! </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Invitations : Come in! </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Offers : Have some more coffee! </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Advice : Stay in bed.
