2. Goal/ Vision To create an All Weather Recycling Station to Minimize Waste at Mangakahia Area School to work towards creating a sustainable future. The Environmental, Social and Economic aspect are an integral part of our plan.
6. Site Clearance Do it right Boys! Keegan, Dylan, Darone, Trei and major overseer, Caretaker Mr Dee! Moving the top layer to provide a firm base for concrete pouring This Yucca Gave us all sorts of trouble. I think the roots went all the way through to China!
7. Landscaping ‘She’s a Pretty Big Job Mate!’ Removing branches with a handsaw! Zaphon helping me cut them up for firewood – an extension enterprise !
8. Concrete Site Preparation Always Measure Twice! Hmmm !! Not as big as I thought. Make sure it’s straight boys.
10. Construction of Frame Putting the Frame up was a challenge. However, the team pulled through! Even injuries couldn’t hold us back! Plenty of work being done. Always the hive of activity AND at any time of the day!
13. Evaluation Success Criteria Judgment The above criteria are what I base success on because they are the focal point of integrating all aspects of school and community life.

15. I see any possible weaknesses are not the building but the recycling management practices.
16.
17.
18. I see possibility for extension of the building so that we have
19. A depot that could easily deal with increased recyclable materials such as an undercover metal collection
20. A re- sort and a large scale paper making operation
22. Personal Response Building our Recycling Station has consumed me. Getting it operational has been a personal challenge. The support from our facilitator Mr. Coram has been invaluable and has guided me to complete the structure and interior furnishings. This Accomplishment is one I’m very proud of. The values about Sustainability I now have I hope to use to encourage other younger students at Mangakahia Area School to realize so they can continue our view of a sustainable at this school.
23. The whole process has been a life experience done in a fun and challenging manner. I have learnt many skills including formal plan drawing, correct construction techniques, working in a team, communicative and collaborative skills. I also learnt how to realize leadership potential and enjoy the opportunities that went with the leadership responsibilities.
24. In conclusion I would like to thank everyone that helped with the All Weather Recycling Station
