  4. 4. Folk Music Lucinda Williams was born in 1953 in Louisiana. She started her career writing and singing country music, but she wasn’t very successful. She started writing more topical music, and her songs were recorded by several folk artists. After that, she became known as a folk and blues artist.
  5. 5. Folk Music Side Pony refers to a hairstyle and also a slang term for “doing your own thing”. While Lake Street Drive is considered a Folk band, this song is highly produced, and sounds closer to Funk or Disco music than Folk music.
