    3. 3. LeNS is a 3 years project (Dec/2007 - Dec/2010) funded by the European Commission (Asia Link Programme, EuropAid), involving 7 design schools in Europe and Asia

    5. 5. <ul><li>promote a new generation of Asian and European designers capable of design for sustainability </li></ul><ul><li>(through a new generation of design educators ) </li></ul><ul><li>by creating an open source, copyleft and replicable learning platform , with an articulated set of didactic materials ( learning resources ), being a disciplinary ground on Design for Sustainability focused on Product-Service System innovation, free to use and adaptable by (any) teacher </li></ul>LENS’ AMBITION

    7. 7. a platform allowing interested teachers to download open source and copyleft learning resources (slideshows, texts, audio-videos, etc.) that could be modified/remixed and reused , i.e. adapted according to each teacher specific didactic needs, institutional requirements and local context particularities MAIN OUTPUT: Open Learning E-Package on DfS
    8. 8. MAIN ACTIVITY: 8 transcultural learning pilot courses: . a EU teacher is guest by an Asian teacher (+ vice versa) and they are observed by a third teacher . Asian students design for EU context and are criticised by EU teacher (+ vice versa) . All lectures are recorded: videos, slides, ... are uploaded (OLEP)

LeNS is a “lens”: it is focused on design for sustainability, focused on PSS innovation, i.e. contents are not dispersive

    27. 27. go to www.lens.polimi.it and register to join the network 1. if DfS on PSS IS your focus: join and become a member of the network (free), download open learning resources and tools on SPSS; you will receive the lens news letters 2. if DfS on PSS IS NOT your focus or if it is but you want to set up a LOCAL network, download the LeNS site and adapt it to be a support platform for your own issue/local related networking activities, produce your own learning resources and make them publicly available in open source and copyleft
