  2. 2. Introduction
  3. 3.  Chrysler LLC is an American automobile manufacturer that has been producing automobiles since 1925 and from 1914 under the Dodge name. From 1998 to 2007, Chrysler and its subsidiaries were part of the German based DaimlerChrysler (now Daimler AG) after an arduous deal dubbed a quot;Merger of Equalsquot; in 1998.  On May 14, 2007 DaimlerChrysler AG announced the sale of 80.1% of Chrysler Group to American equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., although Daimler continues to hold a 19.9% stake. Chrysler LLC is the new name.[2] The deal was finalized on August 3, 2007.[3]
  4. 4.  The main part of the front page is images of all kinds of cars  Chrysler’s products with many models and different uses for customer’s purpose  you can see immediately what product is new one.  Click on one car and the web page will view characteristics of this one  full view of the car you like.  Under these images is small news update events about Chrysler’s company & products  new products, films, search tools, compilations with other competitive products.  Give visitors deep impression about what is new and how it can satisfy them.
  5. 5.  DaimlerChrysler has revealed its new Chrysler Nassau concept — a four-door, four-passenger quot;luxury coupe.quot; Although it has some similarities to the four-door Mercedes CLS quot;coupe, quot; the Nassau has an upright hatchback design at the rear.  It's not known if the Nassau concept points to any possible production vehicle from Chrysler. We expect many design cues from the Nassau will find their way into production vehicles, even if the overall shape is strictly a design exercise.
  6. 6. 2.1 The Problems • Each department of Chrysler had spent huge sums of money in building information systems that suited its individual needs, headquarters could never force all the departments onto one centrally controlled systems. • The Company was lack of flexibility. Chrysler found many difficulties if it wanted to change something during the production. -> Chrysler spent so much time and money to produce a new car. It also was extremely inflexible in designing, manufacturing....
  7. 7. 2.2 The Solution • Build up a new product- development process, namely quot;FASTCARquot;, a Web- based system allows the company to link the information from many information systems to reduce the production time.
  8. 8. 2.3 Effectiveness • The whole point of FASTCAR is to keep everyone working on the same design at the same time. • The FASTCAR's goal is to move from theme selection to design completion to mass manufacturing. • Enables the company to distribute work among several locations, while improving quality, reducing costs and shortening production time • Delivering quality products while effectively managing increasing competition and cost pressure.
  9. 9.  Product lifecycle management (PLM) is the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal.  It is one of the four cornerstones of a corporation's information technology structure.  All companies need to manage communications and information with their customers (CRM- Customer Relationship Management) and their suppliers (SCM-Supply Chain Management) and the resources within the enterprise (ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning).
  10. 10.  CATIA V5 is the leading product development solution for manufacturing organizations of all sizes.  Apply its capabilities to a variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive, industrial machinery, electrical, electronics, shipbuilding, plant design, and consumer goods.  Provides an integrated suite of Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) applications for digital product definition and simulation
