2. 2. Physical Properties you can measure • Mass is the amount of matter that makes up an object. • Mass is measured in grams (g) and kilograms (kg) • You can use a pan balance or triple beam balance to measure mass.

4. 4. Physical Properties you can measure • The basic unit of weight is the newton (N) • However, in everyday life weight is given measurements in grams and kilograms, just like mass.
