  2. 2. Wedging ClayWedging is a process in which youprepare clay for working. If you do not wedgeclay it will have an uneven texture which makesit hard to work with and it could also developproblems when it is fired.
  3. 3. Texturing ClayTexture can be added usingcarving tools. It creates arealistic look when texturinganimals but also looks attractiveon other objects

  5. 5. Scratch and Slip MethodScratch and Slip Method is used when joining clay in it’s leather hard form. You scratch the surface where you want to make your join and apply slip (muddy clay) to help stick the two pieces together
  6. 6. Modelling ToolsModelling tools are needed to carve, texture andshape clay. You can either buy them from yourlocal hardware store or you can simply makeyour own by carving and shaping wood or evenusing plastic utensils. Once your clay hashardened and dried its easier to use metal toolsas it cuts better.
