Organization Change Management students planned and led one focus group and conducted several one-on-one interviews to gather information to help develop a survey of Milano students. The goal of the survey is to find out what motivates students to choose Milano for their graduate education.

  3. 3. Background information • General project: marketing and branding campaign • Purpose of our project: to identify the major factors that influenced current students’ decision to enroll in Milano/GPIA.
  4. 4. Background information • Three focus groups and individual interviews: – 4 Non Profit Management students – 3 Organizational Change Management students – 2 GPIA students – 2 Urban Policy students – Within this overall sample there were two international students.
  5. 5. Findings Common Factors: – “Hands-on", client-based learning approach – Suitability of the program to students’ objectives
  6. 6. Findings General common threads: – Affordability – Flexibility (curriculum and class time) – Nurturing environment – Concern with social impact – Faculty members' professional reputation – Socially Progressive

Findings • Program-specific comments: – GPIA: program growth/integration might diminish the intimacy and nurturing component of the program. – Management programs: • Confusion about policy/management academic blend • Impressed by alumni and professors   – Urban Policy: distinction from management programs – International Students: • International ranking • Offer of a one year post masters degree
