  2. 2. Resume Writing<br />Proper format/style<br />How to write an appropriate cover letter for the job in which you are applying<br />What kind of jobs/experience should and shouldn’t be included<br />What to write for the objective that makes you seem like you are ready for the real world<br />
  3. 3. Informational interview<br />Writing in the PR field is paramount and the most critical aspect of the career<br />3 tips for a recent PR grad: Network, Intern, Repeat<br />Graphic design is one thing they wished they focused more on<br />Keep your resume concise and relevant because it is the first impression that companies will have of you<br />
  4. 4. Linkedin<br />I did not know anything about LinkedIn until this class<br />I think that it will be very helpful for my career because of the people who I can connect myself with<br />I like how LinkedIn allows you to post your resume as is and it formats it for you<br />
  5. 5. Job Searching<br />Proper etiquette to have when in the company of potentially important people<br />With the mock interview I learned the important of appearance, confidence, and the over all way you conduct yourself<br />Sending a handwritten thank you letter after the interview is very important <br />Make sure your resume is neatly printed on watermark paper and send it out in the proper envelope <br />

  7. 7. Proper Dress<br />I learned what kind of clothing is appropriate during an interview and also at work<br />Here are some examples:<br />
  8. 8. Portfolio<br />Make sure your portfolio is in a presentable folder <br />Have 3-5 of your best/favorite works inside for the interviewee to look at if they choose to do so<br />Make sure to create a leave behind with 2 of your best pieces from your portfolio inside<br />

Trade book: The structural transformation of the public sphere<br />The public sphere represented “public opinion”<br />Public sphere – the sphere of private people how came together and formed a public<br />The public sphere is both a social reality with a history, and a theoretical concept<br />The author traces the history of the separation between public and private in language and philosophy<br />This book did not directly help me when it comes to my future in PR but it was a very interesting history lesson<br />
  10. 10. Overall<br />This class has just furthered my interest in PR and made me excited to get out there and job search once I graduate<br />I have learned all of the right things to do during an interview, what to have in my resume and portfolio, what to wear, proper etiquette, etc. <br />
