Guidelines <ul><li>Groups need to research on their MSDS and focus on the following: a)  Hazards Involved b)  First Aid Measures needed c)  Fire and Explosion Data d)  Uses or Applications in the industries </li></ul><ul><li>Please include statistics on the amount of usage of this chemical in the world, if you can find them. Bonus marks will be given for this effort. </li></ul><ul><li>Incidences of Minor or Major Pollution/Accidents caused by chemical spillage anywhere in the WORLD. Please include pictures if you can find them. Bonus marks will also be given for this effort. </li></ul>

Presentation Requirements <ul><li>1)  Group Summary: 1 slide/group: Describe the at least TWO learning points of the MSDS of another group’s CLMP1(MSDS) . </li></ul><ul><li>2)  Reflections: 1 slide/team member: How would you find MSDS information useful in your job when you are involved in the logistics of chemicals? </li></ul>

Dangerous Chemicals <ul><li>Melamine </li></ul><ul><li>Benzene </li></ul><ul><li>Sodium Hypochlorite </li></ul><ul><li>Hydrofluoric Acid </li></ul><ul><li>Bentonite (Cosmetic compound) </li></ul><ul><li>Nitroglycerin </li></ul><ul><li>Cyanide (Cuprous, Zinc etc...) </li></ul><ul><li>Sodium Arsenite (Insecticide) </li></ul><ul><li>Methyl Isocyanate (MIC) </li></ul><ul><li>Boric Acid </li></ul><ul><li>Carbon Tetrachloride (or trichloethylene) </li></ul><ul><li>Any other dangerous chemicals used in industries (Please discuss with your Lecturer) </li></ul>

Presentation/Submission Datelines <ul><li>Group leaders are to re-confirm their selection with their Lecturer by the 2 nd week . </li></ul><ul><li>Please deposit your slides by the 5 th week of the term , so as to allow other groups to view & comment on your work.  </li></ul><ul><li>Presentation will take place for all groups during tutorial class in the 6 th week . </li></ul>
