2. THE CRIME.
The victims were Andrew and Abby Borden.
Lizzie Borden struck them to death with an axe.
3. THE INVESTIGATION
The evidence was that Abby's body was cold and Andrews was warm
meaning that Abby was killed first.
There was no blood and inability to find a weapon.
The suspected that the killer was a tall man but arrested Lizzie because
she was the only one in the home at the time of the murder.
4. THE TRIAL
The evidence in court was witness accounts and the head of the axe
She gave confused and non-consistent stories.
She pled non-guilty.
The verdict was non-guilty due to the fact that they had no forensic
evidence.
5. THE AFTERMATH
After the trial she returned back to Falls Hills and bought a home with her
sister taking interest in theatre and attending plays.
6. THE MEDIA
I think the media played the role of exaggeration as usual. The media is all
about who can get the story out quicker and they take any piece of
information whether its true or not and put it out to the public.
7. MY TAKE
I think Lizzie’s verdict was based on the evidence they had and not on her
background.
I think she did commit the crime so the verdict was wrong, but it was fair
that they didn’t convict her because they had lack of forensic evidence.
