  2. 2. When looking at major purchases for a business, you need to follow the following four steps in order to make an informed decision.
  3. 3. <ul><li>Does this do what you currently need or want it to do? </li></ul><ul><li>Will it do what you need it to do in X years ? </li></ul><ul><li>Does it have proper support and education in order to use it properly? </li></ul><ul><li>Is it affordable ? </li></ul>
  4. 4. Purchasing a building for your business <ul><li>Does it fulfill your current needs? </li></ul><ul><li>Is there enough room for your current staff? </li></ul><ul><li>Does it allow you the ability to run your business in the way you need to? </li></ul>
  5. 5. Plan for your future needs <ul><li>Will it be able to handle the projected growth of your organization? </li></ul><ul><li>Does it allow for future staffing ? </li></ul><ul><li>Is it wired (or capable of being wired) for future technology needs? </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Will you be able to maintain the building? </li></ul><ul><li>If the roof needs to be replaced , do you have the people to do this? </li></ul><ul><li>If there is a lot of snow or ice , do you have the people to clear the parking lots and sidewalks? </li></ul><ul><li>Will you be able to keep the building maintained and cleaned ? </li></ul>

Major software purchase <ul><li>Does it do what you currently need it to do? </li></ul><ul><li>Does it do what you will need it to do in 5 years ? </li></ul><ul><li>Does the software provider have support for their software and do they provide the type of training needed to use the software properly? </li></ul><ul><li>Is the software affordable now and in the future? </li></ul>
