Layers of the Soil <ul><li>1.  Topsoil-uppermost layer of the soil.  It is dark in color.  It is rich in humus.  </li></ul>
Subsoil <ul><li>It is located beneath the topsoil.  This layer is light brown.  It is not fertile like topsoil. </li></ul>
Bedrock <ul><li>The bottom layer of the soil.  Also called the parent rock.  It is grayish brown in color. </li></ul>
