  3. 3. What IS a fairy tale? A traditional story written for children which usually involves imaginary creatures and magic. A type of short story that typically features folkloric fantasy characters, such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, dwarves, giants, mermaids or gnomes, and usually magic or enchantments.   5. 5. A princess is an important femalemember of a royal family, especiallya daughter or granddaughter of aking and queen, or the wife of aprince.1st task: List 5 characteristics of aprincess. (3 minutes)
  6. 6. Beginning of the story.. Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog. As she sat, contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.1. Happen upon/on: to find or meet something or someone by chance.2. Contemplate:to spend time considering a possible future action, or to consider one particular thing for a long time in a serious and quiet way.3. Verdant:covered with healthy green plants or grass.

  8. 8. Middle of the story… The frog hopped into the princesss lap and said: Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am! ~~~~~~~And then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castlewith my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so.
