Procedures in classroom

  1. 1. Procedures They are the way we do things! It also helps our class run smoothly and safely

Start of Class (able to start quickly) <ul><li>Wait outside until invited in </li></ul><ul><li>Come in take a seat (assigned) </li></ul><ul><li>Start Do/Now – Composition book </li></ul><ul><li>Keep a book/magazine (while waiting on instruction) </li></ul><ul><li>Have a homework folder </li></ul><ul><li>Supplies: pencil, pens(black/blue), composition book, lined paper, and 2pocket folder (extra: construction paper, scissors, glue, glitter, tissue paper, colored pencils/crayons,etc…) *Library card </li></ul>

End of Class (To keep classroom safe) <ul><li>Begin to clean up and put items/materials away after you have been given instructions to do so. </li></ul><ul><li>Put all supplies away in the appropriate places. </li></ul><ul><li>When bell rings wait for Teacher to dismiss you. [“The bell doesn’t dismiss you. I will dismiss you!”] </li></ul>

Handing in Papers (make sure that all students work gets turned in so that it can be graded) <ul><li>Write your name, date, section# 5___, and the assignment (title) in the right hand corner of each assignment. </li></ul><ul><li>John Burrell </li></ul><ul><li>September 7, 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>5219 </li></ul><ul><li>(First Day of School) </li></ul>
  5. 5. Bathroom (write in time of departure/log) <ul><li>Don’t interrupt instruction, classroom discussion or students asking questions to leave room. </li></ul><ul><li>TAKE A PASS WITH YOU!! </li></ul>
  6. 6. Sharpening Pencil <ul><li>Pencils are sharpen ( 2 ) at a time </li></ul><ul><li>Sharpen at the beginning of class only </li></ul><ul><li>Trade for another ( barter /item of yours) </li></ul><ul><li>Everyone has the right not to be disturbed by others getting supplies! </li></ul>

Group Work <ul><li>Make sure all instructions are heard, respectful of others and safe during activities </li></ul><ul><li>Quiet talking during group work </li></ul><ul><li>One person for supplies </li></ul><ul><li>One person out of seat per/group </li></ul><ul><li>Questions should be group (not individual) before the teacher….  ask 3 people! </li></ul>
  8. 8. Make Up Work! <ul><li>Responsibility of Student! </li></ul><ul><li>Must ask students/teacher for missed work </li></ul><ul><li>Upon return you are given (1) day for everyday absent </li></ul><ul><li>Must have note from parent/doctor/funeral note/obituary </li></ul>

Talking and Asking Questions (everyone has the opportunity to speak) <ul><li>Be respectful and listen, we can learn from others… </li></ul><ul><li>Raise hand to speak (quiet hand) </li></ul><ul><li>Quiet talk during group work </li></ul><ul><li>Whenever someone is speaking you should be listening. What does listening look like: * *Stop what your doing. **No distractions. **Look at the speaker. **Listen - mouth is CLOSED!!! </li></ul>
  10. 10. Computer <ul><li>TEACHERS COMPUTER IS OFF LIMITS AND YOU WILL BE AUTOMATICALY SUSPENDED IF CAUGHT USING FOR ANY REASON!!!!!!!!!! </li></ul>
