  4. 4. Latinitas – nonprofit dedicated to the empowerment and advancement of Latina youth through media, art, culture & technology. We offer workshops & training to help girls build confidence and express themselves creatively through multimedia.

What is the Teen Leadership Institute? <ul><li>It is an institute that will help young women to develop leadership & communication skills . </li></ul><ul><li>The institute will consist of monthly workshops on leadership methods, decision making skills, communication, advocacy, media, creative expression, goal setting, public speaking, civic engagement, and volunteerism. </li></ul><ul><li>The institute will help you explore your own strengths and cultivate their leadership abilities. </li></ul><ul><li>The institute will </li></ul>

Sample Individual Service Projects <ul><ul><li>Priscilla remembered her challenges in trying to learn English as a second language , so she tutored bilingual kids at an elementary. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To help preserve her heritage and culture, Alejandra coordinated Ballet Folklorico classes for younger girls. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To provide recreational opportunities for girls who can’t afford it, Arianna organized a free dance course . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Indira saw the troubles her friends experienced grieving from the deaths and violence in Juarez, so she organized a support group for teens. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Jo Marie was concerned about helping the environment, so she started a recycling program at her school and got her group to adopt-a-highway . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Gabriela hosted a documentary film screening and talk to motivate students in her school to become active. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Lynette cared about children with cancer, so she organized a fundraiser to benefit cancer research. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Daniela thought teen pregnancy was a big issue in her school, so she organized presentations about the topic. </li></ul></ul>
