  3. 3. Identify the problem <ul><li>We have to build barbells for the MEH PE. The barbells are not like normal barbells that have large weights on the ends. We have to build a barbell that is one weighed pole with no weights on the ends. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Criteria and Constraints <ul><li>Must be sturdy </li></ul><ul><li>Must be safe </li></ul><ul><li>Try to reduce as much cost as possible </li></ul><ul><li>Try to use recycled materials </li></ul><ul><li>PVC pipe and other materials were donated. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Possible solutions/ideas We were originally going to have a PVC pipe connecting two milk jugs. However this didn’t work, as an interview with the P.E. teacher revealed that we couldn’t do that.   7. 7. Reflection <ul><li>The barbells might come in handy in P.E. </li></ul><ul><li>They can be used differently. You can twirl these around, for instance. </li></ul><ul><li>They also have nice, comfortable grips. </li></ul><ul><li>They are pretty sturdy, so they will not break if dropped. </li></ul>
