  5. 5.  A Little Information about Me! I am from Gilbert, WV , but moved to Pearisburg, VA 12 years ago. I have been married for 11 years. I have 2 daughters and nine grandchildren. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have a M. Ed degree in Curriculum Instruction: I am currently working on my Specialist degree in Educational Technology My favorite thing to do is to travel to National Parks with my husband.
  6. 6.  What Are You Going to Learn Today In today’s workshop participants will ◦ Learn how to download and install iTunes account. ◦ Learn about different Educational Apps and how to upload them to iPad ◦ How to design and develop and PBL using iPods and iPad apps.
  7. 7.  iPad Basic An iPad is a tablet designed by the late CEO of Apple Steve Jobs. The tablet is a small computer that makes learning fun in so many different ways. It is primarily used as a platform for audio – visual media. An iPad runs the same operating system as the iPod Touch that is why the lesson are interchangeable.

  9. 9.  Today we are going to learn how to take and iPad and turn it into a classroom tool in which you can make a Project Based Learning Lesson. In this next part we are going to watch a 18 minute video on Learning in Hand and developing a Project Based Learning Lesson.

  11. 11.  Your Assignment Today your group will create a Mini PBL lesson. Please use the information on your handouts and the information from the videos. You will have to design the lesson from a sixth grade objective of your choosing. You will have one hour to work within your group to complete this assignment. Upon completing your assignment you will choose a teacher from your group to present the lesson to the workshop. Please review your rubric in your handouts to ensure you meet all components..
