Pedagogically sound performing arts suitable for tribal schools of Rajasthan Lalit Kishore, CULP, Jaipur A review of the mater-trainers’ training of Maa-Bari Centres – small tribal children’s schools in Rajasthan - led to deciding about what performing arts formats were suitable for classroom instruction in such primary schools. The following decisions were taken on the basis the six-day training held in February. For grade one: Finger and stick puppets For grade two: Mouth opening and glove puppets For grade three: paper-plate masks and envelope masks The sessions for making puppets and masks were incorporated in the training module for training of teachers.
