Your Idea has to be Workable Credible Marketable
Sometimes you fall in love with the wrong story.
Don’t be afraid to dump an idea.
Find the Target
Find the Hook
Think of it as an opportunity to   quickly communicate something
If there is a Brief   Make sure you Match the Brief Sell people what they want
One Liner You have to be able to describe it in one line
Know Your Product Don’t use notes or little cards.
What is it?
Is it a   Feature?
Is it a   Series?
Is it a   Telemovie?
Is it a   Serial?
What is the genre? Crime Drama
Comedy
Sci Fi Comedy
Thriller
Horror
Romance
Where are we?
When are we?
Who are the Main Characters?
What is their big problem?
What is their goal?
What is going to stop them?
What is at Stake?
What is the dramatic question at the heart of the story?
What are you trying to say?
Most people are Looking to Say NO Learn Your Weakness
Know your market Who would watch this?
Sell Yourself Too What do you bring to the project?
This is not ART This is BUSINESS
Engage in dialogue NOT debate
