Modified radical mastectomy still remains the procedure of choice for operable cancers.Breast conserving surgery sounds more attractive to the patient but is a death trap. The recurrence rate with this conserving surgery is extremely high. By the time a recurrence is detected the disease has already spread far and wide rendering it inoperable.
