  2. 3. <ul><li>Study the vedas (sacred books) daily. </li></ul><ul><li>Perform your duties according to them. </li></ul><ul><li>Dedicate all your actions as worship of the God. </li></ul><ul><li>Renounce all the desires in the mind. </li></ul><ul><li>Wash away the hoards of sins in the bosom. </li></ul><ul><li>Recognize that the pleasures of sense objects are riddled with pain. </li></ul>
  3. 4. <ul><li>7. Seek the self with consistent endeavour. </li></ul><ul><li>8. Escape from the bondage of home. </li></ul><ul><li>9. Seek companionship with Men-of-Wisdom. </li></ul><ul><li>10. Be established in firm devotion to the God. </li></ul><ul><li>11. Cultivate virtues such as Shanti (calming mind). </li></ul><ul><li>12. Avoid all desire-ridden actions. </li></ul>
  4. 5. <ul><li>13. surrender to a perfect Master. </li></ul><ul><li>14. Daily serve his sandals (devotion he preaches) </li></ul><ul><li>15. Worship daily. </li></ul><ul><li>16. Listen, in depth, the sacred declarations. </li></ul><ul><li>17. Constantly reflect upon the meaning of the sacred commandments. </li></ul><ul><li>18. And take refuge in the truth of true self. </li></ul>
  5. 6. <ul><li>19. Avoid perverse arguments. </li></ul><ul><li>20. Certainly follow the discriminative rationale (constructive discussion) </li></ul><ul><li>21. Be absorbed in the attitude: “I am Brahman” (timeless true self). </li></ul><ul><li>22. Renounce pride. </li></ul><ul><li>23. Give up the idea: “I am the body”. </li></ul><ul><li>24. Give up the arguments with the wise. </li></ul>
  6. 7. <ul><li>25. Hunger and disease, get treated. </li></ul><ul><li>26. Daily take the medicine of food. </li></ul><ul><li>27. Say no delicious food. </li></ul><ul><li>28. Contentedly live upon whatever comes to your lot, as ordained by God. </li></ul><ul><li>29. Endure all pairs of opposites: joy and sorrow etc.. </li></ul><ul><li>30. Avoid wasteful talks. </li></ul>
  7. 8. <ul><li>31. Be indifferent. (inner balance) </li></ul><ul><li>32. Save yourself from other peoples’ kindness (this may chain you down) </li></ul><ul><li>33. In solitude live joyously. </li></ul><ul><li>34. Quieten the mind in the supreme lord. </li></ul><ul><li>35. Realize and see the all pervading self everywhere. </li></ul><ul><li>36. Recognize that the finite world is a projection of the self. </li></ul>
  8. 9. <ul><li>37. Conquer the effects of deeds done in earlier lives by the present right actions. </li></ul><ul><li>38. Through wisdom become detached from future karmas. </li></ul><ul><li>39. Experience and exhaust the past actions that have started prarabdham (suffer the in silent dignity with shameless courage and patient heroism) </li></ul>
