Tahun 2019, statistik pengguna media sosial di dunia telah mencapai sekitar 3,5 milyar (Ermasys, 2019), dengan rata-rata menghabiskan waktu sekitar 3 jam perhari untuk mengaksesnya (Globalwebindex, 2019). Media sosial tidak hanya disukai kaum milenial (90,4%), tapi juga oleh generasi baby boomer dan generasi X (Emarketer, 2019). Oleh karena itu, penggunaan media sosial seharusnya telah menjadi hal yang biasa di kalangan pengguna internet, dan seharusnya dapat ditingkatkan pemanfaatannya, terutama untuk edukasi (pendidikan). Seiring dengan dampak pandemi covid-19, dimana setiap orang di dunia ini harus bekerja dari rumah, dan sekolah dari rumah, maka, kami menawarkan suatu hal yang cukup mudah untuk diakses, mudah dipelajari dan mudah digunakan untuk media pembelajaran, yaitu melalui media sosial.

  12. 12. Instagram for education Instagram is a useful tool to be used in teaching language. First, it can help to increase communication skills and provide a 'back door' for shy learners. While many students struggle with speaking in front of their classmates, they may feel more comfortable 'speaking' on Instagram. Second, Instagram relies on the written word, making it an excellent means of improving writing skills. Third, Instagram encourage collaboration and peer feedback among students. Fourth, Instagram promotes interpersonal skills among students. With this tool, teachers can engage the students in classroom activities that use interpersonal skills to apprehend the feelings and mood of fellow students.
