This solution supports your global trade activities with the tools you need to participate in the modernized systems and electronic means of communication used by government agencies and customs authorities. GTS helps you avoid costly delays and financial risks involved with imports and exports, enabling you to react to international business opportunities quickly. Managing import and export processes is a high-risk proposition today. Failures in a company’s import and export processes coupled with a lack of visibility and control can lead to delays and higher costs; lost sales due to missing capacity, components, and materials; and higher inventory carrying costs. Because data quality tends to be poor and collaboration with both internal resources and suppliers is usually manual (via e-mails, fax, and phone calls), it’s not uncommon for companies to spend an inordinate amount of time and effort on coordinating international trade activities throughout sales, production, procurement, and distribution. SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services (also known as SAP GTS) is a standalone solution which integrates into a company’s core supply chain and financial process to ensure companies are fully compliant with international trade regulations, can clear customs quickly and efficiently and to minimize the costs and risks associated with moving goods across boarders in an international supply chain. SAP GTS is licensed by business process including: Export Management which includes product classification, Sanctioned Party List Screening, export license management, embargo screening, and export customs management Import Management which includes product classification, Sanctioned Party List Screening, import license and permit management, embargo screening and import customs management Trade Preference Processing which includes solicitation and collection of vendor declarations, preference processing of Bills of Material to determine preference eligibility and the generation and distribution of preference declarations for customers
