Launched in December 2009, Axis Long Term
Equity Fund is an equity-linked savings scheme
(ELSS). Retail investors can look at ELSS to
avail tax benefits as funds under this category are
eligible for a deduction up to an investment of Rs
1.5 lakhs under Section 80C of the Income Tax
Act.
4. Investment objective
The investment objective of the Scheme is to
generate income and long-term capital
appreciation from a diversified portfolio of
predominantly equity and equity related
Securities. The fund will invest in a diversified
portfolio of strong growth companies with
sustainable business models. Though the
benchmark is BSE- 200, the investments will not
be limited to the companies constituting the
benchmark.
