2. 2. 5 W Poems
My mother
Slowly tears open gifts
At our lovely big home
On a bright sunny morning
Because it was Mothers Day.
The little alley cat
Tiredly scampers
Through the trashed alley
In the dark, dark night
Because he was hungry.
3. 3. Free Verse
I am jealous
I am a present without a bow
I am a flower with no pedals
I am a cowboy without a horse
I am a pencil with no eraser.
I am rich
I am a bee with a bunch of honey
I am a lady bug with a ton of black spots.
4. 4. If I Were in Charge of the World
If I were in charge of the world, I’d cancel Monday mornings, Fighting ,and also global warming.
If I were in charge of the world, there’d be no broccoli , no wasps, and no waiting in lines.
If I were in charge of the world,
You wouldn’t have to go to school if you didn’t want to.
You wouldn’t have to go to bed when your parents told you to.
You wouldn’t have to eat vegetables, or do chores. You wouldn’t even have to do anything you didn’t want to.
If I were in charge of the world,
Chocolate, ice cream and cupcakes would be vegetables. All grownup movies would be “G”. And a person who picked his nose, and sometimes runs into walls, would still be allowed to be in charge of the world.
5. 5. Diamonte
Sun
Bright, yellow
Shining, glowing, setting
hot, star
moon
Chocolate
sweet, brown
eating, melting, making
milk, peanuts
Vanilla
6. 6. Mothers Day Poems
I love you the greenest,
I love you the color of grass swaying gently in the breeze
I love you the color of a lily pad floating in the center of a shallow pond
A leaf growing larger and larger on the tip of a branch
A stem of a rose sprouting up from the earth, reaching for the blazing sun
A grasshopper hopping through the tall grass.
I love you the bluest,
I love you the color of clear water trickling in a cool little stream.
I love you the color of a calm breeze in my face
A steep rocky mountain slope
The smell of the salty sea
The air after a rainy night
A bowl full of fresh blueberries.
7. 7. The End
End
End is when everything gets dark
End is when the instruments from a show are put away
End is when the sun sets
