9. Think about your classroom. If you could have one technology
items that would aid in your instruction regardless of cost,
what would that item be and how would you use it?
• A class set of iPads or Kindles so that my students may be further enriched in standards through apps during
station time.
• When I was a classroom teacher, I didn't have a Promethean Board. All we had were desktop computers. If I
was in the classroom today, I would love to have a Promethean Board. Training would be more beneficial on
early dismissal days.
• Computers for every student
• Ipads
• I would love a touch screen on the wall...something easy to work and easy for prek students to reach and use.
• I would love to have an IPad for each child in my class. I would allow students to get on educational sites.
• Touch screen computers
• laptops for each student.....possibilities are endless.....
• A smart board that the students can actually see no matter what the brightness of the room is.
• Chromebooks.
• I would like an updated Promethean board that is a touch screen and could adjust to the height of the teacher and
the students. It would also be nice to have an ipad station so students can listen to the stories on the ipad or do
myon on the ipad. It would also be nice to have updated laptops for the entire class so I could teach using the
computers/laptops on a daily basis. I could use kidbiz3000.com as a teaching tool. Students could view beneficial
videos and use the textbooks online as a tool.
10. Think about your classroom. If you could have one
technology items that would aid in your instruction
regardless of cost, what would that item be and how
would you use it?
• I really don't know what else is available to me. I guess I would want an iPad that could be connected to my
Promethean board. That way, I could use apps that aren't available otherwise...
• lap tops for each student - they would do their "programs" and could move to sit next to me or para and can be
better monitored while small group/one-on-one sessions are going on at the same time. They would also take up
much less room and allow kids to work more comfortably and at varying locations of the room.
• Laptops (better quality than we have) for each student. Would use to differentiate lessons, research, centers, etc.
• I would have never and updated computers. The ones I have are so old and alow we wait for things to load and
waste instructional time. They are also so old they are not compatible with newer programs.
• Student laptops or iPads
• ipad
• I would get enough laptops for each student. The laptops would be used often to practice grammar and fluency
skills. The laptops would also be a too used for writing.
• I would like and I pad with apple tv so that I can use my ipad to show information to my students.
• Elmo/Document Camera/ActiView
11. Think about your classroom. If you could have one
technology items that would aid in your instruction
regardless of cost, what would that item be and how would
you use it?
• I would love to have an ipad for each one of my students. My students could use it to
communicate their wants and needs, take assessments, as a reward for completing
assignments, and for daily class assignments.
• I would like an ipad for each student. This would eliminate students having to share five
computers and give the class more opportunities to use different programs.
• I would like more touch screen lap tops.
• laptops
• I would like a technology overhaul. I would like updated computers for the teacher and
students that support the new software and run at a descent speed. I would like a new
touchscreen Promethean board with a projector that I do not have to turn off the lights
to see. I would like to be able to raise and lower the board for easier access for the
students. I would like tablets for each student with a technology fund to be able to
purchase educational apps. And the capability to connect the tablet to the Promethean
board. I would also like a sound system in my class so the students would have the benefit
of hearing me without raising my voice. I would use all of this to enhance the educational
experiences of the students.
• New updated computers/laptop that are able to run programs successfully that are to be
used with the students.
12. Survey Analysis
Every homeroom teacher in our school has a Promethean board.
Unfortunately many of them only know the basic tasks to do with their
board. Many teachers would like training on their Promethean boards.
Their preferred training time is during Early Dismissal days. Usually our
professional development days are filled with topics the school board
wants us to cover or testing information, especially this year with the
new PARCC test. I am hoping I can deliver a professional development
on the Promethean boards during a PD day at the end of the school year
or the beginning of next year. Many of the teachers would love to have
iPADS and/or laptops in their classroom. It is evident that times are
changing and these items are easier to manage and are more engaging
for our students.
