  • Thanks for the comment; I may try to post a version with the audio, but am at another conference for the next few days. The open access question is an important one throughout research, and perhaps especially in the STM fields where journal subscription prices and other forms of intellectual property exploitation have gotten completely out of hand. Here, though, I'm dealing pretty specifically with university presses, and even within that on the humanities. But thanks again for the comment!

  • I wish that I could have heard the oral presentation that went along with this as it looks to be a very interesting idea. I agree with open acess, although I think it should encompass much more than publishing - what about research as a whole? There is a movement within the pharmaceutical arena for open access on drug development for neglected diseases, for instance.
